Postby bassboy on Fri Sep 21, 2007 1:18 pm

Hi there everyone...got a customer who wants to put a 2L Mondeo engine into a Mk4 Fiesta (the one with the sad looking front lol) and wondering if its a straight forward conversion or will i run into problems? ive seen the 1.7 Puma engine fitted however, would like to go 2L Zetec on his fiesta which one day hopefully ill convert to turbo

the engine in it at the moment i think is a 1.3 if i remember correctly

Cheers

I've heard of this done and think it's basically the same as converting a Mk3 with the differences being you may need custom engine mounts or Mk3 zetec ones welding on. Entire loom from an Si is probably your best bet with the key to deactivate the immobiliser used in a similar way they do for remote start. Or you could run aftermarket management which may be better in the long run for turboing it. I think the only other thing may be the configuration of the engine ancillaries, but I'm sure they wouldn't be too hard to figure out.
