If I was you mate I'd have a proper look all over the floor of the car, and underneath it etc to check for more rust because you've found quite a lot so far and failing an MOT wouldn't be good! I'd just do it to not take a risk and also for a piece of mind.

On a lighter note, glad you finally got the other mirror sprayed, it's looking proper nice for a mk4 now!!

I've been following this thread quite closely and am really impressed.

I have a mk4 also and at the moment its got those nasty black bumpers and considering the car is silver it looks crap. I've been looking to modify it and this thread has shown me what can be done :)

If you dont mind me asking, how much do you estimate you have spent on it so far? Im just on a budget and was wondering what it may cost me.

Cheers

cheers guy im really flattered :)

umm ive spent over 700 quid ont he in all, but thats mostly parts like a clutch and exhaust etc.

mods wise i dunno maybe about 150 - 200 quid i cant really say ive never added it all up, maybe more than 200

things have ranged from alot of paint, bulbs, tyres for the alloys, cathodes, centre console, interior light. the seats, alloys, side repeaters and mats all come off the si

sorry but i cant really be accurate :-?

hope it helps though, oh and all this was over a period of about 5-6 months so not all at once, making it seem like less has been spend :)

Yea man i was originally thinking of shelling out a couple of hundred on a full on body kit and that kind of thing but i really like the simplicity of the way your car looks. So dont be suprised if you see a silver looking version of your car floating around these forums in a couple of months time :)
