They look really really good mate!! Looks like a proper top job you done! Will suit the car to the ground i think! I dont think you should put a red line around the rim, leave them as they are as your car is red, will ruin the wheels i personally think, but thats my thoughts.

Should look ace when they are on!

ok day two of alloy referb, 1158 AM, in the garage house
lol

rubbed down no.2 and used epoxy to fill the gouge made byt he crash of the last car, on the rim of the outside, left that set for a few hours and got on witht he others int he mean time

Image

no.3 rubbed, and in primer:

Image

garage is all over the place

Image

rubbed down primed and in first few coats. it needs doing as it looks scruffy from when i removed the original grill and had some white plastic showing

Image
Image

also redone the mesh (3rd time!) i laquered it this time though, so hopefully it can last longer
Image

i should have rubbed the bad spots back more but i was not too fussy, cant see them parts anwyay unless you try to look for them

Image

3 alloys now done, 2 need t-cutting to remove the orange peel effect, and one needs more paint as we run out today, and then tyre wall paint and were done with the alloys :)

Image

just bumpers and handles left then :Q

byr for now

ok got upto a bit today too, the alloys are all done, just need to t-cut the orange peel away and i can put them back on then

got upto other stuff also

bumper is off and ready to get preped
Image

after reading deans thread and hearign aobut his slam panel, thought id recheck mine lol, and im glad to report no accendent damage or repairs, also no rust, which is always good news, also double checked that i do infact have the loom for fog lights, also handy :)

meanwhile, i bought some led 382 bulbs at FiTP and when i fitted them to the brake lights, they were too dim and werent any brighter than the tail lights, so werent a good idea to keep them in, but ive always had an idea to use them as tail lights instead, but the bulbs for them are far smaller and so is the hole, so they wont fit it, but i got on with it today and made the holes larger

the led's:
Image

and the light cluster as they were:
Image

as you can see theyre too large:
Image

after some piloting with the side cutters and then snapping off the sections with the long nose pliers, a larger hole, (thats what she said :P )
Image

and well, now it fits :D
Image
can also see my finished final alloy there
Image

Image

dunno if you can tell by the pics, but the left which is still a filament bulb, is rather pink in comparison and isnt as pure as a red , both are now fitted, so thats all good
Image

i also had a problem now for a while with my boot lights, when i fitted the spoiler i forgot to seal the holes,a nd water leaked down tot he boot connector/switch,a nd shorted the lights switch which is wired to my sig lighter in the front, i have had that working for a few weeks now but no boot lights, not sure what i done really but i managed to get the power back on to the lights, and ive secured the wire connecting to the sig lighter better, i think it was loose and coming out when it was all back together so maybe thats why, anyway my lights are now working
Image

Image

all for now, ill get the alloys fitted tomorrow and take some pics, also ill get started on the preping of the bumper hopefully

front grill is back on

Image

and this is a pic of the damage the previous opwner done tot he O/S wing, ill be repairing this, ive already pulled it back out as it made a gap between it and the bumper

LOL i know its so apprent now aint it,but your not noticing the dip in the road, the back wheels are up on a slope, and the fronts are ont he curve of the lane so there is a massive gap under the sills, it isnt that bad honest lol, looked fine when it was back int he garage

but ive put posts out everywhere on all the forums looking for some, ill be looking regularly too so hopefuly find some cheap 2nd hand ones :)

cheers anyway

ok today i removed the headlights so i can gain access to the wing and also i wanted to remove the indicator lense so the orsam diadems could reveal their bluey tint ;)

Image

wing all masked up
Image
Image

in primer
Image

painted and laquered
Image
Image

lights and grill back on
Image
you cans ee the blue from the diadems here
Image
Image

i also started to paint the front bumper its rubbed and primed and just started to have some red, but theres loads of "crater" like flaws in it and i think im gonna need to use filler primer on it, but dont know where to buy them or how much

more tomorrow

Lots of progress bud. But are you sure you need to laquer the wing? I've never laquered any gloss colour ive painted. Just compound, t-cut and polish.

you will be glad to know i just won a set of lowering springs on ebay for £42 and will now be getting a drop of 60mm :)

but ont he other hand bad news is that i wont be on the road untill i can get a job, as the insuarance has hit the roof due to me being unemployed, but ive decied to blow some money on it, starting with them springs :) and before anyone says why not just blow that money on the insurance, its because im on the job seekers allowance,a nd it isnt enought to bay for £1200 premium, would be smarter to wait untill the premuim goes beack down a bit :)

ok more work on the bumpers today

finished allt he red parts, just needs some more laquer before being done
Image

Image

i decided with a mate that its best to redo the black potion of the bumper in graphite,a si have a full can and would be a nice little change
Image

its all done, and awaiting laquer,t hent he splitter, no.plate and im thinking about insalling some fogs whiels its off, then it can all go back on the car
Image
Image
Image
Image

im not to woried abotu any lines or impurities int he bottem half as yoou cant really see them as theyre so low down

:( hope my splitter will be ok whne its down 60mm :(

i will leave the front untill i buy more laquer when i get payed during next week, ill make a start ont he rear bumper tomorrow

all for now :)
