jonyb4 :haha thanks wayne means alot coming from you, cant wait for them alloys :),
and bens sort of right, you tap intot he brake light using one of them little blue things not sure what their called they cut into the wires through the plastic outer layer,
You should never EVER use scotchlocks, E-V-E-R.

jonyb4 :you dont tap the negetive into it since there isnt on on the brake lights, you earth it to the car, i used to bolt that holds the lights on, you cant earth it to the boot, well mine couldnt for some reason
You can tap it onto the bulb holder earth which is what I did.

Very poor method of connecting things and are far from the most secure and will always fail eventually, not if, but when. If they fail and create short-circuits then you get problems and the worst case scenario, fire.

You can ask any proper car electrician and they will be avoiding them too. Nearly all electrical guides on here and FT say not to use them too.

I would never have anything fitted by Halfords, and now you've justified my choice

scotch locks, there ok for a temp "test" before cutting the wire and joining right but apart from that, try to avoid them

Should've added that. They're great for testing a circuit without chopping wires but that's it.

thank guys, im a bit worried abou them left to harden in the mercy of mother nature but im sure they'll be fine, and yep planning on doing the handle, and taking the boot handle off to do that also tomorrow, then mirror (if enough paint left) on saturday :)

and ill be doing the alloys black, i dont think the wheels suit it either but what can i do im stuck with them so all i can do is improve on what i got hence black, will help my red and black theme and will make them red calipers stand out nicely :)

i didnt want to do it in the rain but i know if i hadent of done it today i wouldnt have for ages so i did, and i was reading steve1127(FG) in his thread he done them on his ZS this way so i thought its nice and easy so ill do it:)
