here some pics of the damage my bumper suffered over the past week
this ont he passengers side front bumper, happend by me trying to park in a rather tight gap and rubbed the car infront while parrellel parking

Image

this one, slight as it is has just chipped overtime by stones etc and since im doing the others might as well do this too

Image

also this was done by a stone chip, then got worse when i was using the pressure washer and thought it was a piece of stubborn dirt lol, soon i realsied that it was getting bigegr as i tryed to rid the dirt,

Image

ive rubbed each down and flaked off any of the loose paint, ready for some coats of primer and paint tomorrow, ill strife to get atleast some coats of red on by sunday since its the cribbs meet

ok little update

my recent list of jobs to do on the car is:

colour code inside panels in graphite grey such as dial surrounds and heater vents DONE
VHT black paint the exhaust manifold and engine mount, also the MAF sensor DONE
repair front bumper chips and flakes
paint the bumper strip on the rear bumper red, and the lower section in graphite grey

Pics to follow

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

let them bake a while, before and after spraying

Image

and the end product, smooth
Image
Image

all done
Image

and the engine bay as it is now, much better

Image

once i get hold of some suitable pipes, i plan on making a decat down pipe using a spare manifold and downpipe from a scrappy, hopefully wont be too expensive to buy, but they will see it as me buying a Cat more than anything, even though id throw that away.

Will update pics when the panels are fitted and spraying the bumper is finished

Interior plastics look good mate! I'm just in the process of getting hold of
the silver versions from te zetec s.

With that front bumper, I'm guessing it was black before? I'd possibly try and get hold of an already painted one rather than respraying the black plastic one as that sort of thing will just keep happening.

it is a genuine red one mate, the impact took all the paint off it, all of them were just sprayed onto plastic bumpers, which makes complete sence [ERRR] it would cost too much to use all the different colour plastics for the different colour options

the Zetec S rear bumper is the same where its lost some paint, a time part of it above the number plate, so yours shouldnt be any exception

cheers nomad thats will help loads

cheers mate, im trying to think of what else i can spray in there that colour, any suggestions mate?

heres some pics of them fitted, sorry for poor pics was too dark using flash too :(
this may sound weird but i love feeling the dial surround when driving, feels so smooth :bonkers:

Image
Image

naturally lighter and more of a shimmer than the gloss black ones

more of an update on the bootlid, i finally mustered the courage to use filler again :( last time went horribly wrong

think ive got the hang of it now, this aint how it stands atm, i went back to fill the wiper hole but didnt leave the handle filler set enough, bad idea that was lol, so i was pulling it off with each sweep, wiper hole is done for now, so i will do a second build up tomorrow.

Looks good :)

I de-catted my old mk4 fiesta by getting a mk3 manifold which has a sort of 4-2-1 arangement, and a late mk4 fiesta intermediate section with flexi and joining the two. Maybe try asking an exhaust place how much it would cost to do that, it will be better and you don't have to buy an expensive cat. Gave mine a noticable increase at the top end.

Heres some pics from when I did it

If you mean not telling between the 1.1s and 1.3s the manifolds are the same. If you do want to do that, you need one from an injection fiesta (92 ish on) which has the lambda hole. As you can see above you just need to cut each end and so a short join (dont need to bother with a join).

witht he not bothering with the join? what do you mean? i know that wherre the join is, on a mk3 the cat is, but fromt here it seems id have to get a down pipe from a mk4 too since i want to be able to swap all this back come mot time

i have no idea where i can find some piping from! ugh

Dont worry about the join in the third photo down I meant to cut down costs. You'll still have the one where the flexi is, although its more convievient to have a second join. You will probably have a one piece cat on it at the moment anyway so it will be a direct decat replacement to what you have already, so just a simple swap come mot time.

ive bought some blue led's to convert all the switches, buttons and dials to blue

of some arrived today, so i started withthe buttons, after doing one of them and driving with it, i found it to be to bright, distracting and just didnt work for me, SO ive done them ll red instead, just wish i realsied this before a spent a fiver on blue led's

everything excluding the boot pop button has red illumination now, the boot pop has never been wired up to illuminate anyway, but i may do in the future, ill upload a pic tomorrow at night
