Re: My fiesta, red mk4 s2 16v New clutch ordered!
well good news my clutch arrived today as i expected, mind it was left with a neighbour as i didnt hear them
diesel mk4 1.8 non turbocharged
but didnt get round to any car work as i have a spot of man flu and i visited a mate in pontypool
namely to collect these
now ive got mixed feelings about this splitter, and i know little about, only that its french lol
since it was so cheap i though hell why not give it a shot, so i will perhaps do some smoothing on it and try to get it not so chavvy with all the ripples and lines in it, paint it graphite and maybe fit it to the bumper
i also bought some '50% brighter you fell for our scam' bulbs which actually glow whitey blue (for now ) but the main reason i wanted them was so all my bulbs in the headlights had a blue glow when you look in (my dipped bulbs were just normal) theyre H7's
will do my best to pry myself out of bed tomorrow to get cracking on the clutch, i want it on the road by the weekend, but its gonna be anoyong trying to get the box up and in on my own as my dad is working int he week

Half inch extension, with a bit of black tape wrapped round to make it snugger, box falls straight on

Re: My fiesta, red mk4 s2 16v | clutch |
yesterday had me and two others around and we got the box back in, just need to lift it up to the mounts, put starter back on, gear linkage etc etc will get on it tomorrow
only a few pics
a random of the all blue bulbs in the headlights
and a nice sunset pic
fitted the clutch, the bar i used much have done ok as it slotted on ok with the gearbox
and the modified gearbox plates
was all such a struggle coupled with negotating a gearbox into the bay while trying to slot the input shaft onto the clutch, as we had to make sure these spacers sat in the right position

Re: My fiesta, red mk4 s2 16v | clutch |
lol yea
ive noticed a significant difference betweent he old clutch and new, whilst still bolted to the flywheel
the fingers ont he enw clutch sit alot futher in, closer to the pressure plate
ont he old 1.8 zetec one they sat quite a distance out,
this will help me as the release bearing will have to travel futher to reach the fingers, which is why i fitted spacers really
so im quite hopeful now

Re: My fiesta, red mk4 s2 16v | clutch |
me and my mate 'matt mk4' got the car fixed back up and bled the clutch, topped up the petrol and after realising i forgot to attatch an earth, the fuel pump relay started to work lol and got it running, keep in mind the backbox isnt fitted properly, still need to get it out in the lane to access it
not gonna bother withthe poly bushes for now, or the rear ARB, just want it driving for a bit first, bit too much change for once lol, if i do any more atm i wont reckonise her
all built back up
finally got to see the new bulbs in action, and fair play, theyre spot on, ill have to take a pic of the box as theyre true tot heyre word, theyre 5000k +50% brighter 'Ultra' bulbs
theyre quite intense, mk4 fitment, H7 my full beams are similar colour theyre H1's and then osram diadems in the indicators, standards for fogs
and i also removed the bonnet lining, want it to be more like a mk3 lol
onto the video, the car is misfiring, around 2k rpm, but the battery is completely flat, so this wasnt helping at all the plugs may also need changing sooner rather than later, but apart from that she drove well, drove it around the village, tracking is so far out lol its like a large magnet is pulling me left
the clocks are playing up a bit, the rev counter stops working when im driving, the speedo didnt work at all and id think the temp didnt either, again this could all be down to the battery, so dont wanna do anything till its charged or renewed
but apart from these, im SO happy, first time driving it in almost 3 mopnths forgot how stiff the suspension was and how low it is

Getting there Jon. I wouldn't put any badges onto
it myself, keep it debadged, and keep people guessing
I had those type of bulbs in my car and found that I couldn't see anything with them so went for some Halfords Extreme Brilliance bulbs which give the same blue effect in the headlighta but are much brighter.

Re: My fiesta, red mk4 s2 16v Drives well
oh id of guessed the halfords one to be crap
well little update, witht he battery charged, we also adjusteed the electrode gaps on the plugs and swapped the cam phase and 4th injector, and it runs mint, very quick lol
last few teething problems are the mid section is poo, blowing like mad, however, ill be phoning longlife in swansea tomorrow and get it booked in for a nice new custom midsection made up to join fromt he back of the down pipe to the back box
i could bearly get the back box opn either, and when i did it was miles off the mounting place
the speedo isnt right at all, its reading 20 at about 40 lol, any ideas guys?
and the other is the throttle cable is very sticky and slow on response, so i need to look for a new one from maybe a 1.25 etc
