MK4 Zetec *PIC UPDATE - 24/04/07*
Just out of curiosity, what is good quality items and what is not good quality items for the interior of a car.
example : neons, LED's, Headunit, Subwoofer ?
That type of stuff, what should you get and what should you not get.
Like a list of stuff, recomended for a nice looking - non tacky interior.

burn it all, sounds a mess
imagining the car was standard...
decent h/u
uprate speaker wires
1decent amp to run decent front comps and decent rear comps or 6x9's
mayb sub if u need more bass
nice set of alloys
lowering
stick to one colour if u r doing neons at all.
not a fan of shopping lists or advertising ripspeed myself

yea,
Thinking of returning all the lights to standard,
taking out all the additional crap.
but keeping the mats, pedals and gearknob.
Going to keep the front speakers, and put some in the rear, but not in the parcel shelf ! and h/u.
if anybody has a mk4 rear shelf with no holes , in grey or black then please pm me if you are selling it or if it is just lying arround.
possible goimng to take the list off the side, but i dont want them to leave a mess on the paint
Anybody else got any comments on what i should buy, chuck out, modify to make it look better.

if that was my car...i would...
take off all stickers
remove hub caps
remove all neons
dont put chrome gear surround on
throw mats in the nearest skip
along with 6x9s and shelf
replace all with....
'bassboy' custom built sub box
decent 4 channel amp (alpine, Orion, Genesis etc)
Rainbow/alpine etc components in the front
maybe change sub and amp
put standard mats back in
colour code mirrors, bumpers etc
fiesta SI seats (if they fit)
16" rims on 195/50 or 45 profile tyres (or if i REALLY had it my way, 9x16s on 195/45 stretched on )
lowered 40-45mm (or again if i had it my way - 80-120mm all round )
nice sounding quiet exhaust
in my eyes, there is no point boasting looks if you aint got anything to back it up...you have 4 types of cars - loud cars (bass etc), fast cars (power), standard cars and wanna-be's with bodykits, loud exhausts etc etc with 1L engines!
loud cars - can look the part, dont boast about being quick, no over the top exhaust etc...but blow you away with bass...especially when someone in their shoddy car comes beside them cranking their 'tunes' thinking they have the loudest system in the UK
fast cars - look like they were born to race, when someone does come beside and want to have a piece, you can give them a good show without having to back away because the 1L is more tappity than the loud exhaust!
standard cars - for your everyday drivers (who get annoyed by the loud cars and just plain shown up by the fast cars LOL)
wanna-be's - generally cars trying to be everything they aint - lairy body kits, loud exhausts, 20" rims, stickers, neons, spoilers higher than the roof etc etc....all backed up by what is essentially nothing...get a loud car pull up beside them....and smokes them....get a fast car pull up beside them...nothing happens apart from an exhaust note which is bordering pathetic as they try to leave the standing line but the 1L engine is struggling to pull the weight!
decide in what category you want to be in...and go for it...BUT get the best of everything you can...if something will take you another 2months to save for, then save! in this game you cant be inpatient otherwise you WILL end up wasting SO much money! then you wonder why people are looking at a car and thinking why bother....(not implying this to your fiesta, but in general for all cars) harsh...but its the truth!
everybody understands that youngsters get excited and want everything now now now, but, sometimes, take a step back and think...hang on a minute, look how person x has done it...look how person y has done it....so you do it different and use better quality components first time round and saves you money in the long run...it might take you longer, but it will be the best time of your life when its finally finished! mine has taken 3 years so far and im not even finished! but EVERYONE respects the car as its unique!

taken off side stickers, taken out all led's, neons and restored all the bulbs to brand new standard ones.
heres a couple of pics.
Didn't take off the hubcaps as the other ones were cracked and smashed up lol
and...... just noticed the 'Max Power' sticker on the rear window which has to come off !
Improvement ?

Looking better.
I'd go for subtle things that just aren't quite standard. How about a Mk5 aerial, a proper rear wiper, without replacement blade, Then maybe some colour coded bumpers and mirrors. Zetec-S alloys always look good.
Same on the inside really. Mk3.5 Si seats will fit, but make sure you can get the rest of the interior to match, black door cards and the likes. Nothing wrong with changing interior bulb colour if you ask me, just as long as they're as bright as the original bulbs. And extra lights can work, but got to be hidden into the design correctly.

Try photo-shopping them on mate, or find someone who can do it for you.
Those tyres are great. Got a set on my car (185/55R14 though) and they've been awesome compare to the tyres I use to have (Some random crap though).

yea thats a good idea, rather than goin arround extremly high like a 4x4.
Can you recomend me a lowering kit then please, not breaking the bank either - something decent thats goot for its price please.
looking for about a 40 - 70mm drop, 60 would be good.

That 3-wheeler in the background kicks ass!
Sorry to go off topic
.....back on topic....
I reckon if you sprayed the bumpers the same as the shell, then it would look pretty tidy
Do not underestimate the power of a 1.3 - It's low enough already

There is someone selling these exact alloys in the for sale forum.. Tiller is his name.
As for what i would do if i owned the car. Colour code the bumpers and mirrors, Nice alloys then lower.... Job done. I would also put lexus lights on ebay while they are still worth something. Dont go down angel eye route as they look rubbish too im my opinion.

Heres a Pic of the hear shaft gaiter - does anybody know how to get the horrible patch in the little pocket, its like glue or something and it wont come off.
The gaiter may look like it hasnt been fitted properly at the top but thats me been messy with tieing the knot, it just needs tidying.
just remembered you can sorta see the seat covers, there just to cover up the water stains on the seats where the sunroof has leaked in the past.

Theyve been ordered so no matter what anyone sais there not getting sent back - but just oppinions. What do you think to the black angel eyes for the car ?
I thought that keeping the black bumpers would look good with the black rear and front lights, also with the black tints and black rims - what you lot think ?

I like the lights you've gone for, not classic lexus, more euro cluster as they call them! I think some euro rims would suit your car well too! 15's with some lowerage

Cheers, will hopefully get them tomorrow (Monday).
Seeing as I have the black lights all round, should I smoke the side repeaters as they are clear - just to go with the flow ?
Will get pictures up as soon as they are fitted.

Just a little picture update - went down the breakers and got myself a MK5 ariel.
Looks alot better and smoother.
Still waiting for the angel eyes ( its taking the micky now ).
got a propper 3rd brake light on the way and a uncut parcel shelf on its way, so it sould be looking a lot smoother overall after them little things are complete.
Any comments ?
