leighk2010 :Pumatt :I'm glad you put pics up of the fuel tank, I'm in process of removing mine atleast i know how it looks.
The car looks like its coming along well, looking forward to seing the end result. I've always wanted a fiesta zetec s, one with a tidy engine would make my day. Maybe even a mag feature?
i could only ever hope for a mag feature but there is quite a few zs with good engines in a guy over on zsoc has a rs turbo engine in and a few are going for the 2.0 engine now
if i can sell my coilovers and get some standard shocks and springs which mite of arranged with a guy im tempted to buy a st170 engine for it
ooo, how much would you want for the collies? i have standard springs and shocks on the puma but i think they are different fitment was mine has earlier rear beam and your has later.
Ford Escort GTi
Ford Puma 1.7 ..... in bits for scrap.

Re: mk5 panther black 2.0 zetec
well after a bit of thinking i'm going to modifiy the blacktop sump to suit the gear box i have and go for the mtx75 gear box at a later date, as looking into quite a few people have to do this to run certain boxs on there kits cars as well, and doing this atm makes more sense as i already have the shafts etc to suite and will bring me one, step closer to been compeleted quicker.

Re: mk5 panther black 2.0 zetec
will be going the mtx75 route at some point as the plan overall for the car will be a st170 engine mated to mtx75 box or a focus rs box but want the car dun and running so this will be the plan for now, hopefully going to look tomorrow why i'm up the garage but should not need welding as its a case of just removing some of the webbing on the side of the sump

You can run a silvertop sump on the blacktop to save cutting to fit the starter. We chopped my mates one and it gets very close. Take you time as its easy to ruin the sump

am tempted to fit the silver top sump but i sold the one i had as thought was not needed, and when i change the box to a mtx75 at some point will just source a new sump again i think this is just tempt to allow me to make more progess with the car, will be carefull when cutting you no what they say "can always take more off than putting it back"

Well if you cut too far and ruin it, then go for a silvertop sump

Re: mk5 panther black 2.0 zetec
i no was not going to be easy its more because lack of funds etc atm as work is going really sh*t so no income to keep things coming the engine i have needs a rebuild really, need to soruce a slivertop sump and new starter motor etc , dont think ill be happy with the car why using the bodged sump etc would much rather have the mtx75 box in with the rear starter but then this is yet all money i dont have atm

its a hddi box out of a mk5 fiesta so dont think the zetec ones would fit, im looking for more info on how to run the slivertop sump on the blacktop engine and if this will make the engine any worse as jony says the sump is what gives the blacktop engine some of its strength

aye some, but how much can a hollow piece of alloy with " slightly better webbing" actually provide?
its worth a shot with the zetec starter, its the same block and flywheel at end of the day
