if going turbo engine will be rebuilt fully not to sure if will go

forged pistons and rods,
st170 pistons and rods (as the forged rods)(pistons are high cast)
or the vaxhuall pistons machined to fit,

as dont want to use a de-comp plate. will be running erst manifold either drilled and tapped to head, or using adaptor plate, a t3 turbo of some sort as aiming for 250 bhp

will also use my focus inlet but try and source a metal focus rs itb

dont see point of getting it running N/A to then strip it all back down to build up again,

will either then run it on focus rs management
or omex or megasquirt etc

if you dont want to use a decomp plate, you cant use St170 pistons, the compression ratio on them is too high (10.2:1)

your gonna need it lowered to about 7.2:1

plan sounds good though, mind having a 135 odd bhp mk5 wouldnt be a bad thing either

can get the st170 ones skimmed a little to help bring it down,

and hmm ya it would not but turbo sounds better plan i think ;)

if you can tap th ehead safely, and about 7/10 of the studs or more it should be fine

your gonna use the high milage engine for the Zetec turbo?

i wouldnt advise that, cant you find a lower milage one?

it will be fine jon its going to be stipped down having crank reground and new bearings etc block bored out to 2.1 so can use so cx20let pistons so bottom will be as good as new when done, plus this is just a stage one engine after this is up and running going to enjoy it for a bit why building up a better engine any way

that will be a lot longer the car will be of the road i want it on road some time this year, and the next engine there will be no rush as i want quite a big power/reliable power motor probs say over 400 bhp

this first engine i will be happy for anythink over 200 bhp

well was going to drill and tap the head but i wanted a way to easily swap the manifold over to another engine if need to be so just orderd this...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_500wt_1156

will probs have to move the rad slightly forward to get clearance but this should not be a problem. as using the adaptor plate adds a extra few cm's to how far the manifold sits from the block.

If you're interested I have a freshly rebuilt 2.0 black top head, with 16 x brand new valves and stem seals and ported exhaust side. the only problem is it's been stored badly and needs a skim - in view of this I'd sell it based on the value of the valves - call it £70 and its yours.
