It's going to need a rear mounted starter, your best bet is to use a bellhousing from an Escort.

Have you stripped a gearbox before? To be honest on the iB5 it's dead easy.

That is an Escort Zetec gearbox which has a rear mounted starter.

You have two options:

1) make a mount that bolts to the existing points on the box
2) use the bellhousing on your TDDi box (I've never tried this)

You wanted to keep the ZS gearbox mount so the TDDi 'box is the best for that: the escort isn't mounted from the top of the gearbox like your Fiesta is.
Keep the TD ratios and end case, and use the Escort bellhousing.

If I were you I would practice disassembling the Escort 'box, then if you make a mistake it doesn't matter too much. Once you have the Escort bellhousing off, you can offer it up to the engine and you'll see what needs changing (not much)

so my best bet then overall is to get the escort bell housing will watch that one you posted on ebay what tools do you need to take a box apart some type of gear puller? etc this will be next job then

first job is to get the engine side mounted down then least thats all done then

just trying get it all right in my head so know the nexts steps, so by using the escort bell house and the tddi box internals all i have to do is make a mount for the stud patterns on top of the box up to my other gearbox mount , what about the other mount under the car will this still bolt on as normal? and by using the blacktop sump bolts on the the escort bell housing it will all bolt up as it should. With no need to modifiy it further, would changing to this swap the clutch from hydrolic to cable?

also i have a 1.6 si flywheel would that be ok to use or should i source 1.8 zetec one?

It's easy to think; it's an optical illusion because because neither the scuttle or slam panel are completely level.

IIRC the front panel cross member on the Mk5 is straight, so check the level there, and check also both sides of the seat crossmember on the floorpan, inside the car.

have you got a blow torch? Heat it up then use your vice and a block of wood to shape it.

no blow torch or vice to use to have a really good work bench in the garge them mum got ride of it what im thinking of doing tho is bending it same as the mock bracket then have 2 nuts welded on the side which sits on the engine side as there is not a lot of room at all in there then bolt it thought from the outside

or instead of bending mite just get the 3 sections cut and welded toghter

All very similar, you won't have to do anything more involved than what you're already doing with the engine mount.
