Postby siesta on Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:55 pm

hi all just like to share my 2 cars ones mk5 zetec.s and the other is my on going project RS1800.owned the mk5 since mid 2009 and the 1800 since last october 2010 the plan is to run the mk5 daily and get the 1800 to a good standard.
i did upload a post last year but it was half hearted....and plan to get more involved with the site plus gain some info/knowledge... :)

a pretty much standard zetec.s apart from electric sunroof and air bags in the front seats
also gone back to normal back lights......

i bought the car near standard apart from a 40mm drop all round and full magnex system

then slightly modded with some clear rears and mondeo rims and set of pop outs..this is how the car stands at present.however the car as been parked up for about 3/4months as the front drivers side calipper was binding.plus the dark nights was kicking in and winter weather so weathers got a lot better and decided to sort the brakes and some other bits and bobs will upload the on going jobs soon........
sorry for the pic overload and all comments welcome :) more updates soon

1800 update

Postby siesta on Mon May 09, 2011 8:08 pm

fist up was to change the back beam from the standard to a mk5 zetec.s rear beam
with a bit of wire brushing and sanding..then some smooth black hamerite it come
up not to bad..also put new polybushes in.... :)

next up was the brakes..due to driver's side calliper not releasing and generating
heat from the calliper to the wheel was scary..so the most important of all
jobs undertaken...new callipers being fiesta st150s

old vs new

again with more sanding more painting the came up all good..plus some goodridge braided hoses

next up ripped out the abs system for more standard setup plus 80% new brake lines
