mocal oil hose - pain in arse to fit onto fittings

Postby xrsi on Fri Sep 22, 2006 11:00 am

ive just fitted the mocal oil cooler with 1/2" push on fittings and sing mocal 1/2" blue oil hose.

The oil hose however will not locate fully on the pushfittings on the sandwich plate or the oil cooler, there is approx 10mm left to the end and it will not push on any more due to the two ridges that prevent the oil hose from slipping back off the fittings (once its on it aint comming off btw as it is that tight).

i have tried to clamp the hose in place due to it not locating fully but it is still leaking.

has anyone got any good tips of how to get the bloody hoses over the fittings in situe as dont wanna have to take everything off again as it is full of oil!
