modifying fiesta rs turbo
hi i am new to the fiesta rs turbo and havnt got any idea where to start modifying in buying parts. my fiesta rs turbo 1990 is currently being rebuilt and im wanting to hit around 200 bhp just wonderd if anyone could tell me what parts i should buy to get this bhp. the head is gettin rebuilt and ported and polished new cams and vernier. new turbo,l/b flywheel. i have bought some new bigger injectors and new 10mm leads and performance plugs etc. the car is currently chipped but i would have to get it remapped after the mods. could anyone tell me what cam, turbo etc would be best for 200 bhp fast road and also what best porting and polishing can be done. would really apreciate any help thanks

welcome fellow newbie To get more out of the FRST, simply apply the usual approach to tuning the car and you'll get where you want to. get a good filter and exhaust on to help the engine breath better. Next up would be the chip, most come under either '165' chip which is stage one, or '195' which is stage two. Your probably going to want the latter along with a set of beige injectors. You'll want to be running about 15psi to get to your 200bhp target, however it would be a good idea to get an uprated intercooler as the standard item become's innaficient at boost levels above approx 12psi. The headwork isnt really essential at this point, altho a nice addition if you want it. On the Cam front, my opinion would be a Newman cam with vernier, however most tuner's or owners will offer varied opinions on which is better.
On the turbo front, the choice is purely down to yourself mate. I think you may struggle a touch with the standard T2 to get to 200bhp, but i may be wrong. IMO i would look for a hybrid T2 at the very least, or the option i would opt for would be a T3 conversion albeit with a Hybrid version of the T3.
Hope this helps mate, and dont forget to upgrade your brakes......there shocking in standard trim

Re: modifying fiesta rs turbo
Uprated fuel pump to match the injectors
Bigger intercooler
T3 or hybrid T2
The 10mm leads and sparkplugs wont do anything.
