...a.1.4si? I wanna be different.

Is this possible? Will it fit and will it actually work?

I wouldnt change the whole car loom myself.

Seems like too much hard work - I'd much rather unplug the engine loom on the bulkhead and plug in a 1600 si engine loom.

if u get a 1.6 si it will run with very little effort but if u intend to drive it and not just potter to the shops with it then u will want to upgrade EVERYTHING otherwise things will just gradually get warn with extra welly ur giving it but it all depends
personally i would uprgade everything to performance or FRST part

Im tied between a frst or 2.0 litre in my 2i. I know the rs can be tuned more but na seems to impress me more in terms of sound etc. And 45's would make sound mad. Only thing stopping me is the insurance really. im 21 in august next yaer and on me mums insurance with full ncb etc. Whats gonna cost the most?

dont know about insurance i would say zetec would cost more cos was not made for the car!
and if ya ask me the 2l can be tuned more,
i personally think that an RST would be more hassle but i aint done either! :oooh:

This is just a thought, but, doesn't the 1.4 si have a fiz ecu? This is the same as runs the rs1800 yeh, so surely with a superchip it could be used to run a 2.0 zetec as i beleive they run a similar efi system to the cvh, ie 1.4si efi system.

Please feel free to tear my supposition to threads as it is just the theory of a dull person  :bonkers:

Well, mateys and matettes, ive been doing a lot of thinking about this swap problem. At the moment it goes and its the only thing ive got so im gonna leave it for the time being but will still consider it anyway. PLUS, my insurance company (Adrian Flux) said they wouldn't insure me on it. I told themwhere to stick their insurance! :bonkers:

Its running a bit crap at the mo thoughcos it needs a bloody good clean out so i'll get that sorted.

The management on the 16 si and 14 si is very similar as they both run Sefi (ie they have MAF sensors etc). I wouldn't be surprised if the loom was the same on both cars...
