More BHP for the Diesel!

Postby Haza406 on Fri Apr 18, 2003 8:46 pm

Can anyone help. What other modifications are there to help me get more horses out my fezza. I've already thought of NOS but a bit on the pricey side at the mo. Any ideas welcome!! :D

There's nothing you can do for less than £500. Nitrous / Methanol injection kit (£500+) or a swap to a TDi lump (~£700) are the only choices.

There's no ECU so you can't chip it, no-one makes anything other than a filter, which won't make a noticable difference.

Ello Haza :) I also have a diesel Mk3, with some pictures of it in my gallery if you're interested. I'll check your gallery after I've written this. If you haven't got any, what have you done to yours, and WHERE ARE THE PICTURES! :p Not only can you get air filters, you can get induction kits too, which not many ppl seem to know! :o £60 odd I think, Green Cotton do one, I don't know about others. I was looking at 2i/TD transplants, but it's just not worth the money. Mine's '93, got 78k on it, and returns a lot of mileage for not much money, so I'll just keep it going. Just recently drove my friend's mum's Clio 1.2 (new shape), and it had NO torque at low revs compared to mine, was atrocious!!!! So just appreciate your torque advantage, and don't throw money at the engine, cos you won't get much bang for your buck I'm afraid :(

I had one of those too... and there are a couple of things u can do to it. Keep in mind that it will never be a fast car (TBH it will always be slow... but it can b made "less slow" ).

Get a proper air filter and get your injection system serviced and set up properly by a diesel specialist. They can play around with the timing and the fuel debit to make it a bit more pleasant to drive. It wont cost u a bundle but it wont make your car twice as fast... it will be noticeable and you can always say its a maintenance expense
