Is it a cvh or zetec 1.8? There a a few different ways of getting 30 or so more brake from that car either way.
1. try and get a fiesta Rs turbo engine complete with all ancillaries, well set up would see the power you want+ more but increasingly hard to find one that doesn't need a complete re build...
2. this is what I would do: Get hold of the lowest mileage/ best condition 2.0 zetec engine and throw that in your car using si/2i16v/rs1800 mounts and convert it to use the 1.8 ancillaries. It's not hard to see 150+ reliable smooth bhp from these engines for a relatively small outlay.
3. If it's already a 1.8 zetec, you can see good power from proper cams, focus inlet manifold and throttle body, or the old rs1800 throttle body and decent management you see virtually the same power as for a n/a 2.0 zetec with similar mods.
4.Ford racing puma engine???! worth a thought, hard to find though...
5. Temporary fix- nitrous!
Other than all the above, if you do have the n/a 1.6 cvh version you could always go for head work and cams etc but you never get much more than 130bhp out of them (without carbs or throttle bodies) and it's more cost-effective to just to do a 2.0 zetec transplant instead.
Hope it works out for you mate
