More power from a xr2 1.6

Postby Matt L on Mon Jan 12, 2004 3:24 pm

Just a quick question to ask what the best way to improve on power from a xr2 1.6? Looking for the cheapest mods possible at the moment cos i ent got much to spend after my recent mods.
I've already got a full ashley system including 4 branch manifold, early better spec xr2 carb with K&N and im also in talks to get a superchip.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Er, superchip = injection engine, carb = not injection?

Twin DCOE's maybe?

Strip the interior out and lose some weight off the car? Don't cost anything to take stuff out

U wont be able to superchip a carbed engine as you have no ECU for it to plug into due to the engine being carb'd

You've done all the cheap mods tbh, the only other thing u can do now is get twin 45's, slap a kent cam in there and get the head flowed and all that, nothing simple or cheap left to do really im afraid
