Mrk3 Engine ??

Postby Zilch on Fri Mar 19, 2004 9:53 am

What engines do the mrk3 fiestas have, cause I thought they were all the CVH's, but ive been reliably informed that mines a "cross flow" ?? or sumit..

Would quite like to know, cause it will make things like airfilters abit harder to find...

Its deffinatly one of the first ever made, and one of the drive shafts (not very good at engines, but shaft that turns the wheel :p) needed replacing, and I got one from the scrappy, it wasnt the same size as the one on my fiesta, although it came from a mrk3..

Z out..

mk3 fiestas came standard from the factory with either a HCS, CVH or Zetec engine.

Yours sounds like a HCS, is it s 1.0, 1.1 or 1.3?

yeah its a 1.1 so a HCS...

what does that mean in terms of buying air filters... (for example), cause most things say for mrk 3 fiesta, but if they come with different engines... or do all 1.1 mrk 3 fiestas have HCS engines ?

A 1.1 will have a HCS engine (High Compression Swirl) which will use a rounded airbox on the top of the carb, so probably a bolt on K & N Filter willl need to be bought.

An induction Kit is purchased for Fully fuel injection engines, like the XR2i or RS Turbo, which uses the CVH engine. (Compound Valve Hemispherical)
