I thought that myself, Jay, if I'm honest. I have a carbon cambelt cover on the way though so might clip it to the cover.

The inside still needs painting. I was going to do the whole inside anyway after I replace the inner sills.
I haven't started it yet. Still need to make a downpipe and actuator bracket.
Bugger I don't think I'm in Hereford untill about 3-4PM on Sunday, but I might be passing Kinver if your about around 2-3?
be good to see the EsCos back on the road!

I know. I think I've mentioned it before, but I don't actually like MK4 Escorts, even RS Turbos 99% of them I think look crap. Much prefer MK3's.

Re: Muz's Escort RS Turbo. Collins Monitor and Custom Surround
Only had a small amount of time on it tonight so went and fitted my Wideband Lambda kit. Still using an Innovate Motorsports LC-1. Spot the chip I put in the inner wing :tiff:
My wiring clips aren't big enough for the wiring on this so need to order some bigger ones to pin it back to the inner wing.
and this is where the fusebox is. I've got some 1.5mm carbon fibre sheet on its way so I can make a little box to surround it.
Now I know all the electrics work I need to fit the alarm and then I can tape it all up.

Re: Muz's Escort RS Turbo. Collins Monitor and Custom Surround
Well did a few odd jobs mainly today. Started off my cleaning the floor pans, inner wings etc on the inside the car as it was bloody filthy. Then I moved on the the last little wiring jobs.
Bolted up the alternator and finished off the little wiring jobs.
Had to make this charming little braided wire to join the alternator and starter motor, braided of course.
This is the grounding point from the engine block (alternator bracket) to the chassis. I perposely left one of the ARB bolts 20mm too tall. It also acts as the radiator mount.
Then I moved on to mounting the radator (after painting it matt black), which wasn't as straight forward as you would imagine. I'm running a standard ERST radiator, but my intercooler is moutned very far forward with the fans on the front, meaning I had to butt the radiator right up to the intercooler.
I did this by cutting off the 'spike' on top of the rad which locates into the front panel so it would fit. I then got the dremel out and cut the origional plastic mount untill I had a hole which lines up to the grounding bolt I mentioned earlier and bolted the bottom down to this.
I then drilled a hole through the top af the radiator and bolted it through the front panel.
On the otherside I have left it like this for now with a bolt holding it in, but I will be welding a small peice in here to act like a guide to stop the rad moving, although it's very secure how it is.
You can also see on the above pic just how forward the rad has been moved. I need a hose joiner to extend the hose, which I'm actaully quite glad about as I can now cut out the turbo water cooling section which I dont need.
And finished
lastly, a carbon foot well panel from a WRC car. It was my brothers but he's no longer using it so I have 'aquired it'. It's amost a spot on fit. Just needs very slight trimming in the top right corner to fit the shape of the floor line.
It conveiniently has a little section on the side which will stop my kicking my wiring loom and fusebox!

Re: Muz's Escort RS Turbo. New AH Fabrications Catch tank.
MAD_Adamski :good girl xxx

Actually got round to mounting my fuel pressure regulator. The manifold means I can't have it directly on the fuel rail as it fouls the throttle body, so needs to be mounted remotely.
I mounted it by making up a small mount and welding it to the bias box. I also had to knock up some spacer tubes to mount the fuel adapter
I also did want to mount the fuel filter on the gearbox so it was out of the way, but I had some custom braided lines made up to fit exactly the old set up which meant nothing would fit were I wanted. I didn't want to have new lines made right now, so I have modified a fuel filter bracket and am mounting it on the inner wing.
My old set up also kept the accumulator, which means I would have to find a union to join the two lines to bypass this, and my fuel lines would also be far too long, looking very untidy. So I have decided to keep the accumulator, mounted on the bulkhead like so. Hopefully you can mount them horizontally rather than vertically?
Also sorted out my breather hosing so thats more discrete. Rather than running two separate hoses, they join together into a 'Y' splitter in the middle then this goes to the top out let on the Bailey. The other outlet is fed by a breather hose from the block.Breather will be mounted on the strut brace.
Now all I got to do is whip the fuel stuff off and paint it up nice.

Re: Muz's Escort RS Turbo. New AH Fabrications Catch tank.
I've remembered that Series Ones and RS1600i's have the accumulator mounted horizontally, under the car, next to the fuel tank, so mounting it there will give me no problems. I think it looks quite "Motorsport" sat there with its braided lines.
I'll see if I can put the parts in paint friday night and fit them on Sunday.

Not now, Shaun. This will be it! I promise. I haven't got it in me to do it over again.
Got bored tonight so decided to get in the shed and do some painting..... Matt black of course.
Header and oil catch tanks
Fuel accumulator and bracket
Bailey oil separator
Even the fuel filter wasn't safe painted this up along with the modified fuel filter bracket.
Also got the group A filter trumpet done.
All together now....
