Sadly no DBW; that would be really nice! The EECIV and EECV Zetec's used a second cable from the TB, linked to a Servo module.

I discovered that the ECU in the Zetec-S is some kind of half way house/cut down EECV. It still uses the old EECIV 60 pin connector, rather than the new 104 pin EECV connector. Focus Mk1 & 2 2.0 Zetec are the same.
Mk1 Focus RS uses the full EEV 104 pin type ECU. Focus RS Engine was my plan, so I'll need to have a think about the Zetec-S loom some more.

I have done some analysis of the the Mk1 Mondeo and Phase 2 Zetec-S Wiring Diagrams:
I'm a bit gutted that the Zetec-S only runs the 60- Pin EECV ECU because I wanted to perform the majority of wiring prep work now to support a Focus RS Engine on EECV (aftermarket management just doesn't compare IMO). At least the ZS does run the SCP bus, which will enable me to fit some more interesting instruments at some point, and get some data logging on the go.
Looks like I need to find a 104 Pin FRS Engine bay loom for when I do get the FRS Engine. I missed a brand new one a few days ago for £44 not realising at the time that the ZS only had 60 pins. Doh!
For now, the main priority is to use the ZS loom to run the Series 1 2.0 from EECIV, which can be done quite easily. The ZS engine bay loom just unplugs from the engine bay fuse box anyway, so it's not a major project to take it out and modify it later on.

I sat in some Recaros yesterday on an ACS BMW stand, they were as FRST seats but in black cloth, with electrical adjustment (inc lumbar) heating and ventilation!

That photo is how they arrive from Recaro. ACS would trim the seats to their desired finish.
I'm surprised they used a design that was so old, the CS is so much better!

Ok well the backrest had the 'frame' around the edge like FRST seats also.

the 2.0 zetec Ecu 'Owls', from a P-reg 2.0 GLX mondeo, does ti have internal pats? would it work on my Si?
Oh and is there a technique to aligning headlights on the mk3? im lost in how to do it
atm ive jsut matched hwo it sits with the bonnet closed compared tot he drivers side which remained untouched

I'm pretty sure OWLS is EECV, mate, which makes it useless for the Si conversion.
Do you have it in your posession? I'm actually looking for an OWLS ECU but as it is internal PATS, I'd also need the matching key chip.

Sorry, I missed the headlight part - I didn't just ignore it. you're right anyway, aim against a wall or garage door to start the process.
Left/Right:Both diagonal lines should overlap perfectly, and the lowest line should start to rise at a point just to the right of the cars centre.
Up/down: Hard to describe this - but the best way to check is to walk 6 car lengths from the car and see if there is any glare - adjust to cancel this out.
I will have a EECIV 2.0 ECU (I think it's DEEP) and MAF that I won't need, as I'm replacing with the EECV (OWLS for example) - this won't be for a couple of months, though.

It looks good to run the Series 1 from Series 2 EECV management. The Focus used the 60 pin ECU and the pin outs for this are near identical to the Zetec-S, which is great.

N/S rear quarter and front wing fitted today. I also cut out the Si bulkhead and fitted the Puma version I bought recently.

I also like the Mk3 Dash, I have a mint Mk3.5 Ghia with that dash in
It does look nice, but it's so weak, and when you fit stiffer suspension it's weakness is even more apparent. The movement/noises drive me mad. The Mk4 dash has a substantial cross member behind it which stiffens the scuttle. The shape also ties in with the curvy Si bumpers and side skirts, and it will let me fit the A/C controls easily.

Yea the early Puma colour - 'Midnight Raven' to match the upper spec Mk3.5 Door cards etc. (There were two black's in the Mk3.5 - Raven and Midnight Raven, which is the really dark blue)

60% of the Filler work is now finished (thanks to my Dad for lending a hand). I don't know how people work in a body shop each day, it's not a pleasant job
