Jesus, three years! :o

I got a completely standard white one mate, just to keep my interests alive really. Done some bits to it, should be finished some time over the next few months. Nothing much to do really, general tidy up. Will run it for a couple of months and sell it on.

Nothing much to the black one mate, getting busy again with PVE, and busy with the house. The little man keeps me busy enough, and we have another little one on the way now. Life is awesome, accept the playing with my own cars! Keep buying things for it though!

It's awesome to see the level of detail your putting in mate. Most haven't the knowledge/skills. But your background knowledge and the depth that you go into things literally astounds me. As always. :)

Setup is from a Renault Sport Clio 200

Using suspension parts off the best hot hatch going is a good move :)

Still French though!

The French have made the best hot hatches on the markets for years and years tbh. And the best current vans are French. TBH Ford owners slagging french stuff makes me laugh, given that Ford have done nothing but turn out badly built, unreliable s**t for the last decade, coupled with awful customer service. But thats another thread

Yes good one 8)

French crap is here:  2011 Clio RS200.
Image

I've reached a point with the car now where it's just gone on about a year too long  Living 200 miles away doesn't help, and my Girlfriend has been so very patient so far, so from now on the three remaining big fabrication jobs will be undertaken by Mark at MK Motorsport http://www.mkmotorsport.co.uk/Gallery.html. Mark will create a bespoke aluminium front subframe to suit the Clio RS suspension, a custom fuel tank, and the exhaust. I'm a little disappointed that I won't do these myself, but I would rather the car was finished for next summer.

I've only met Mark the once, but I'm completely happy leaving my pride and joy with him. He's currently machining the following bespoke billet parts for the Fiesta:

Mounting brackets for rear AP Four Pot Calipers
Rear bells
Rear hubs
A complete set of adjustable rear arms, maintaining OEM bushes

All parts are being machined from billet 7075 and will be anodised gold. I can't wait to get everything fitted with KW Variant 3 Coilovers.

Fuel Pump Wiring
I'm using two in tank lift pumps and two Bosch 044's, which will be external to the tank. I wanted to ensure the Fuel system had a good, clean supply of electricity, so I've wired up a dedicated power supply and relay system that is triggered from the OEM pump positive feed.

I purchased a modular relay socket system and wired up a gang of four. The Bosch 044 pumps will draw approximately 20 amps each, but I've used 40 amp cable and followed the OEM wiring colours throughout.
Image

Here are the fused relays mounted and labelled. I also ran the main positive feed to the battery terminal.

Passenger Seat
The passenger seat is now fitted.

Mark, fuel pump relay triggers are negative, or do you mean the output from the oem fuel pump relay triggering your new relays? Looks tidy ;)

Thanks mate :) I'll have to replace the fuel pump symbol on the cluster with my bank account number

Rhinopower :Mark, fuel pump relay triggers are negative, or do you mean the output from the oem fuel pump relay triggering your new relays? Looks tidy ;)

I'm using a positive trigger for the new relays. The original pump relay will stay in the engine bay and make sure the ECU isn't directly switching the four new relays :)

Can't imagine doing a smidgen of the work you have, but I guess having the ability is half the battle.

And there's me getting all smiley about a pair of carbon wrapped mirrors and a freshly painted rocker cover lol

Amazing work and dedication mate, really impressive.

Rear Speakers
I discovered that the standard Ford rear speakers are actually separate units to the adapter ring they come attached to, which is specific to the Fiesta. I separated the adapter ring from the Ford speakers and re-drilled it to secure the Sinfoni S100 speakers.
Image

A trial fit of the sub enclosure revealed a clearance issue, so I had to cut the enclosure and glass in a reveal to clear the larger than standard S100 speakers.
Image

Finally in position and very secure.
Image

Chassis Earth
The black object made from a polystyrene type material is a wheel jack & brace holder from a later Fiesta, and enables me to relocate the jack from the engine bay to the boot. The holder only needed a little bit of trimming to fit. I need the space liberated by the jack to house an additional engine bay fuse box.

Also in the following photo is the new chassis earth/ground point which I made by removing some paint around a punched hole on one of the rear chassis seams and bolting through it. I also made a small alloy tab that acts as a securing post for the rubber strap that will keep the wheel jack and brace in position. This item was again from a later Fiesta.
Image

Bosch ParkPilot
The ParkPilot is triggered by +12v at the reverse light and requires only that and a negative connection to the car loom. Rather than cut into my loom or hard-wire the system I used a period Ford two pin plug soldered directly to the rear light cluster connector, as this way I can easily replace or upgrade the system if required.
Image

I mounted the module behind the N/S/R turret. It's secured using heavy duty Velcro tape.
Image

Boot Area
The loom I've used in the car runs directly into the tailgate rather than via the earlier and often unreliable brass contact plate system. I had bought some blanking plates for the holes left by the plates, but I decided to open out the tailgate hole to house one of the red Audi door lights. It will serve as a 'tailgate is open' warning at night.
Image

The boot currently looks like this:
Image
I've positioned everything so that I still have access to the fuses and fuel pump relays when the sub enclosure is in position. The objects in bags are a Ford 'Mobility Kit' comprising an electric compressor and tyre sealant gel, required as the independent rear suspension, battery box, and eventually exhaust, occupy the space that the the spare wheel once did.

And as it was a nice day I got a photo of both mine together :)

I hope to collect the rear suspension and braking parts this Friday. Mark asked me to call him on Wednesday and he'll let me know for sure, I'm hoping they will be as I'm really looking forward to getting the rear end together.
