It's a problem in these cars! Adressing the balance is more important than the overall weight issues. Can you put a fibreglass bonnet on and look at moving a few things around?

very interesting mark, wonder what is a viable way to up the rear end weight

have you considered exhausts yet? further than the tip design?
i imagine a 3" system is on the cards? how loud do you want it?

The rear on my RS1800 was too light, even with the rear cage, spare and battery in the boot. The first time it swapped ends turned out to be the last too

I'm going for a 3" downpipe into a sports cat, then into two 2" pipes from there to the back box. I want the tips to have a slight ovality to them to match the 'flat' look of the rear when the RS bumper is fitted http://autopistonmagazine.com/wp-conten ... xhaust.jpg

Ahh, that's a shame  Was it stripped out? Rear roll bar rates play a part, the RS bar is quite agressive for even a standard car.

I spun mine (admittedly on ice) about a week after I stripped it out and fitted a rear strut brace :oooh:

It seems round this end its the curse of the mag feature. A few cars over the years have come to an untimely death shortly after a mag feature!

Enough about that anyway, when are we getting interior pics? :D

The interior is back from Aldridge and Karen has done a fantastic job. I'm very pleased.
Image

I'm glad I paid extra for the premium Nappa hide, it's very nice.
Image

I'm really pleased with the seats, they are a real classic. I won't fit CS now as I'm happy with these.
Image

The door cards were a struggle due to the shape, and the fact there is only a shallow groove for the leather to sit in. This is fine for cheaper, thinner leather, but the leather I've chosen is quite thick. The result is perfect though.
Image
Image
I asked for these padded arm rests to be stitched in:
Image

I've rear headrests which were from a later Fiesta. I also had a set of Recaro emblems added the stitching details changed to emulate the front seats.
Image
Image
Image

I asked for the rear to be trimmed in black carpet.
Image

The Alcantara work is perfect. Headlining:
Image

Seat runner covers:
Image

A pillar trims:
Image

B pillar trims:
Image

C pillar trims:
Image

I've converted to sun visors from a Mk4 Astra and had them covered in Alcantara too. They fit the Fiesta headlining perfectly, have integral illuminated vanity mirrors and the plastic parts are a dark grey which matches the rest of my trim.
Image

Now I need a free weekend to fit it!
Image

'Fir Tree' trim clips are used by just about all car brands to fit the door cards to the body, and the premium manufacturers like Range Rover and BMW fit a foam ring behind the clips to prevent vibration, so I've bought this type of clip for when my trim goes back in.
Image

New rear wiper motor, wiper arm and wiper fitted.
Image

My new Amplifier arrived which is a Sinfoni 120.4x. It has just been serviced and tweaked for even better SQ. Sinfoni are apparently the highest sound quality amplifiers available for a car.
Image

Mk3 Mondeo auto dim rear view mirror, rain/light sensor and auto headlamp/wiper module ready for fitment.

i may get moaned at for this but the quality of this build is on par and probably higher than a lot of top top vag cars. for a car that has been modded in everysense ie not just the engine

I seem to remember a certain former FT member having a set of rather green leather-trimmed Recaros which divided opinion a little more severely than your tan seats will! They do look good, and the finish they've achieved using alcantara on the awkwardly-shaped plastic trim pieces looks A1, you must be very happy with their work :) What a fantastic array of subtle modernities will be woven into this simple, innocently-shaped old thing.

I just looked at the pictures on another computer and they appear bright orange! The colour must be sensitive to monitor/graphics card configuration. They are actually tan in real life  Thanks though guys, I'm really pleased with how it came out. I'm going to get the steering wheel and handbrake trimmed in Alcantara with stitching to match the leather, that will have to wait until next month though

Jay make it happen :D

Ahh, DaveRom! I didn't like the green interior but he put it back to Standard later on and it was perfect. I've not heard from him in a while now. I think he drives a Z4 these days but he still has the FRST.
