My engine is being modified to a 2.0 by using the bottom end of a 2.0 mondeo engine. Is this all ok?! Do I need to get a different gear box, clutch etc? I don't know much about engines, but the boyfriend thinks its all going to be ok. Once its all in, I will then get it tuned.

Just use the bare block, pistons, crank etc, and use the ancillaries off your 1.8 (oil pump, sump, flywheel etc) as the mondeo block is not a straight swap-oil pump comes out at the wrong angle, sump is different, water pump operates in the wrong direction!!..
