Max M4X WW :Very nice but it pains me to think what you've spent on it and what it essentially is underneath! What's it worth standard?

only spent £1200 on it max so its not really a major amount :) its worth about 2-2.5k std IMO.. but now its gotta be worth 3k+....

People could argue but its a 140hp nice looking 50+MPG car, most A3's these days are dogs or been thrashed or not looked after... :)

seats have been swapped for S3 ones as the STD seats killed my back so much i needed physio! For my brthday in april i was given uprated injectors whish are meant to give 25hp + 50lbft!?

my brother gave me a free panel pipercross filter, i fitted a EGR delete and boost guage.

Then i found out my rear calipers were gripping ALL he time so being me i changed them all  .....

Porsche front brakes now and 285mm rear brake kit....

right bit of a cheap upgrade next is my lift pump, as the audi A3's dont come with a 'lift pump' its the Injection pump on the engine that does al the hard work! So to take the strain off that and also to gain performance and better power delivery you can fit a PD golf lift Pump, now this only works at low pressure about 6-8psi...

But it lets the inj pump work far less harder and provide the injectors with better delivery, all this sounds great HOWEVER the golf pump and audi 'sender' is different so i have to remove my sender and try and pysically remove the sender off mine and transplant it onto the golf pump,,, now being that all VW parts are used in many cars this should work!

I got the lift pump today £30 of ebay :D cheers ebay!

it defo looks like the pump can be modified as long as my Audi one is setup the same which i think it will be!

I am going to have a look later at the pump arrangement and see what can be done, just need to get the fitting kit next i may buy it from idparts.com as it will be more factory than if i fit a relay somewhere...

But the sender off the Golf pump can be unscrewed and then unclipped at the top of the pump, SO if its a straight swap for this part it would seem relatively easy mod!

May involve some soldering for the wires but i will see when it comes to it...

Cheap easy mods gotta love them!

will update this later, last weekend i fitted a PD 150 inlet manifold, front mount cooler (from a FRST) and have fitted a PD150 turbo after a slight running issue i had to remove the turbo and clean the vains inside.

However the result now is great pulls AMAZING boosts @1.7 bar held...

Tdi's can be quick and good on fuel and reliable! This now probably brings my modding to this to a end (famous last words) but i fell its now the perfect road car how Audi should have released it. Would like to get it remapped to suit the added parts as it was only mapped before all the parts were added, then a RR to see how its pulling!?

The only issue i may have in the near future is that the clutch may give way  but this is BOUND to happen when pushing probably an extra 70 HP through a 110 spec clutch.. That will be expensive tho as a uprated clutch kit will be about £400-500 OUCH! :o :o

will slam some pics up later for those interested

Sound good! My afn has the later ecu so flashed it over the obd port last night and pulls much nicer than my passat did, pulled right up to 125 this morning. I was going to go for bigger turbo and injectors and mapped to suit, however being an auto it would stop shifting up when it's supposed to so the power would be a waste. As for clutch fit a pd150 clutch, can't be more than £150 from dealer.
MotorcyclesFish :The thing is if I caught Brian fudgekin a bloke, I wouldn't think 'oh Brian's a gay', I'd think 'Brian that fudgekin weird haired mongoloid is raping a gay to see if anyone finds it funny'

the pics make them look big, hoever its only very small but the PD150 design is FAR superior flowing than the early 90/ 110hp models i noticed a great improvement on just the inlet swap!
