Yeah, both are hollow and flaired for vacuum hose, I took the valve apart and there's a nipple either side of the diaphram. Here's another pic to show both nipples

Image

Here's the thread on SXOC http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=224502&highlight=greddy , there was another one saying about the pressure equalising but I can't find it as someone else was the author and I cant remember who :(

Thanks for yor help,

Kris :)

Sorry, I was only using half my brain and didn't even see the second takeoff  Unless there are two chambers in there, adding a second hose to that won't make any difference, as it'll be introducing the same pressure/vacuum as the first hose. Are there two chambers in there?

Lol, thats what I initially thought about there might have been a secondary valve, but there's only one. Its strange as they have been positioned either side of the diaphram so I'm confused behind the theory of the secondary nipple!

Does GReddy's valve have this? Sounds like a muppet company trying to make something look/sound better than it is!

So much confusion...

This is a greddy style Type-S dump valve. It's adjustable and the second nipple is to atach a boost gauge ou something so you don't need to use T pieces.

I'm looking at that same dump valve for my car... don't know if there are any repair kits (spring a diaphragm)...

heeman10 :Does GReddy's valve have this? Sounds like a muppet company trying to make something look/sound better than it is!

Yeah, even the authentic Greddy has it.

Butre - my one is the type R but there are basically the same apart from the type S looking a bit more fancy on the outlet :) As for being used as a boost gauge also seems a little strange as the nipple is on the other side of the diaphram, I cant see how it would give a correct reading, as they aren't both directly connected :-?

Well if either of the takeoffs is before the diaphragm/spring, then yes, it could be used as a boost gauge tapping - tbh it's hard to tell much from the pic.

Hum... you're right. That nipple can't be for a boost gauge or something.

Now this is really a unexplained wonder

Sorry to keep on about the re-circ valves but was there any reason you went for the diaphragm type instead of the piston type re-circ? I've just been reading up on the forge's website and there was a 3rd party review which says the piston type is better :-? I'm also possibly looking at the Bailey's DV30 :

On a different note, my car rolled over to 95,000 miles yesterday while I was on a private test track near me :o

Update

Tomorrow I will be leaving for "Down South", as I will be attending the rolling road day at SCC in St Albans. I haven't found or booked a B&B yet, so better get doing that now  Then on Saturday I'll be staying in Essex at the Hotel De S1 :D And the following day will be spent at Santa Pod, seeing if I can't wrench out some 13 second quarters :-?

So, since I'll be doing over 600 miles, and putting it through its paces on the strip, I decided to give everything a good going over, and to drop the car a touch.

Flying Fiesta:

Image

Image

All wishbone bolts, caliper bolts, gearbox bolts, cradle bolts, crossmember bolts etc were checked. The ride height was lowered around 10mm at the rear, and about 15mm at the front. I also rotated the rear shock bodies 180 degrees as when I originally fitted them I was in a mad hurry and had left the adjustor nobs facing to the outside of the car rather than into the centre, so it was very difficult adjusting the damping. I can now stiffen/soften up the rear as and when I feel like it in just a few seconds, which is handy when at the strip.

Image

As it is sitting now, and will settle a little further overnight. I don't usually run it this low, and would drop it further if the brake line on the front right wasn't a little too long:

Image

Image

And a quick body mod while I was at it

Image

Mm lump hammers! :D

So, need to give it a wash, polish and wax before it goes dark, plus find somewhere to live

See some of your on Saturday hopefully! :aviator:

Thanks a lot everyone :) It's still good to hear other people like it and it's not just me  I kind of thought I'd be taking it for granted now, but I love it as much with every drive :D

Gary - I'll be disappointed if it comes out at below 210bhp, will just have to see what happens! And as for the quarter times...looking at and listening to the way cars like Gav's whip through the gearbox and still make 14 second passes, I don't fancy my chances! The rear seats are staying in too, so it won't be as "all-out" as I hoped. Next time...no seats and a proper release bearing :)

the only reason you didnt change the release bearing was because you want something to blame when you 'conquering device' it up :)
