Re: my new black rs turbo project.... shes painted!
slowly getting the car back together but its slow as im not getting much time near it, I have the two doors all kitted out with loom, rubbers glass etc, rear wiper motor and all locks are back in, need to get a rivnut gun now to redo the captive nuts for the popouts and im going to put some on the spoiler instead of the rivets, I also took a few pics of the brakes I have plus my new ambers and polybushes, brakes are brand new 300mm mk3 mondeo calipers with yellow stuff ebc discs and pads, and I also got a mk5 sunroof for her, much smoother also its her first time to wear irish plates, few pics out in the sun

Could be just me but I prefer clear indicators or smoked fronts/repeaters when using accessory rears just looks odd with no amber at the back unhappy with mine ATM. Still a lovely car though and still wish I jumped at the chance when I went to view it BLOODY Women

Re: my new black rs turbo project.... few assembly pics!
Small update, got the batterie tray all derusted and treated, then a top coat of stone chip to make it look nice, i also decided to restud my whole kit like jayrs as i didnt like the idea of tiger sealing it on so i got some fresh m4 stainless studs and nuts and bonded these in, turned out quite well i thought, i also started the undersealing, started on the drivers side, wire brushed it and smothered it in underseal, also while i was at it i took out my 30mm gmax setup and fitted my adjustable konis with 40mm springs so a little lower have a full set to on, hope to get at the front passenger arch tonight, i also cleaned the mould and dirt out of the ambers with a toothbrush so there nice and clean now, thats all i think but should have more by the weekend, a few pics

Re: my new black rs turbo project.... kit restuded and underseal
things have moved on some more, all the glass is in, boost guage is all plumbed up, the two front arches are fully undersealed and konis put in, the entire underneath has be undersealed, such a messy job when its on axle stands, had to grind down the fuel lines underneath and paint them as they were quiet flakey, I took out the axle and stripped it all down, spent 4 hours grinding all the rust off it and gave everything two coats of black hammerite and the tank 2 coats of silver, just have to wait till everything drys and ill put it back together dureing the week, sorry about the quality of the pics underneath comments welcome

Re: my new black rs turbo project.... kit on, nearly there!
Been a little while since I updated this, the axle and tank have been put back on with polybushes and new rear shoes, I've also swapped out my turbo for another one as mine was smoking after start up, when I had them out and looked at them together, turns out I have a hybrid so I'll get that rebuilt, I've also gone the kit and stripes on and I've got all 6lights up and running at the front, currently looking at fitting a mocal oil cooler so I'll get that in the next month or so and I hope to have her tested and on the road by the beginning of march

Re: my new black rs turbo project.... kit on, nearly there!
Got more done last night, rear speaker holders in, c pillar trims, rear seat belts, rear seats. I also finally fitted my new fan switch that I got off Tom Peters, so now the fan looks after itself but I also have it on a manual switch aswel, and I finally fixed my problem I've been having with the central locking, after a good while with the multimeter I found that a pin inside the multiplug in the door had broken so couldn't see it, so had to strip open the plug and solder a new pin in from another plug I had so finally it stopped locking itself while the car is running!! All the little bits that take time

That's great news mate, headlight out if ailment shouldn't if been a fail, as they should if adjusted it for you (and prob charged for the adjustment)
