I was hoping to have it back on the road this month, we'll have to see how i get on... should be back on its wheels tomorrow and more engine bay parts on as alot has been repainted dash needs to go back in too i have it back ....

lets just say few more trick bits and quality parts/workmanship to come

cheers chaps, well busy again today got a load done altho my rear hubs didn't wanna come off my beam :dunno: ... So gonna have to do them this weekend round my mech's.... hubs are just getting swapped for now nothing bufty as have plans for change soonish anyway... But i'm well on my way now...

Is any of the outside getting sprayed, or is that staying like it is? Haven't you chucked in any scratches with all the removal of bits?
And what about the wings, are they screwed on? Didn't realise that...

Will prefer the look of it when it's back together, looks poo at moment!

shut it wall you gayer.......... the wings are away being WRC'd will be back soon and yes have been converted to bolt on pics along soon... the outside will no not be painted just yet as my funds don' allow it just now... i was never going this far before but got pushed by jamie and others... so for now will be as it is all rust gone, just outside needing a respray to refresh the paint but basically there are still a few things on my to do list but alot has been acomplished over the last month or two.... as always i'll keep it coming

Good good, I thought that'd be the case, I'm sure with a bit of a clean and a good polish it'll look better...
In your opinion, why don't you think the current paint is looking all that great? Swirls? Dullness? etc?

jamie- thats my coil box took a pic as a few people were interested while back. basically i run 4 individual coils 1 for each cylinder the metal unit is the CDI ignition unit for the Autronic (a extra) and a std fuse box.... its alot of kit basically looked a bit of a mess for a while so i got the lads at Ah to come up with something nice .....

mike- basically its seen paint in a few places before my owner ship after closer inspection think the colour is 1 bit dulled, 2 swirled and finally 3 no all correct shade...
so can be brought back to a certain spec to give it colour and depth BUT may look 1-2 different shades when looked closely basically due bad matching on prev ownership.... but IMO will be fine until i do the respray

oh and forgot to say no there were no chips on removal if your careful its fine

ok bit more done today more wiring done and that jamie has finished all the bodywork that he is going to do for now, so we will be refitting some stuff for now and then respraying the car later on when funds allow.....

but not too far to go now really beam is now on, hubs however really dont want to come off the old one... so the car will be going back to my mates soon to have the mech work done like new braided brake lines and engine etc refitted....

going as quick as i can ... got more done today alot of time is taken up by renewing parts, rubbing down prepping painting.... but basically it'll be back on its wheels tomorrow, last few bits painted/renewed and if i have time will start working on the engine... but just brake lines and fuel lines to sort i can get the engine in and ready to run in half a day but its the hoses that will slow me up next that and the fuel tank ...

ok spent my last day painting up engine parts and were finally on 4 wheels again and got a brand new windscreen! , so basically were about there now... next visit will be refitting the rear calipers/ cleaning up the engine, painting the block and picking up few last parts to fit... will be looking to getting the brake lines all in also by next visit and drop the engine in and wire up then its just a case of transmission and fuel system...

ok small update only got the 1 pic as didn't take my camera , but the rear brakes are back on and also the doors. few other small bits done, my engine has been totally refreshed and fitted up with lots of new parts and is ready to drop in! So all being well next visit will be to try and get the brake lines and get them fitted, gota ring about my fuel cell so it can be sorted... if i can get the engine back in too that would be good great... So hopefully within the next week should not be too far off... Wings still not here just yet so waiting on them a touch too.

ok been busy again got the clocks in and that, new door covers to stop water coming in, few new parts arrived to finish few things, waiting on the wings still and fuel tank then things can really rock on.... hoping to have the engine and that back in in 2 weeks when i'm next over. then hopefully if i have enough time fit the fuel system and brake lines. hopefully back on the road end of this month ...

ok pic update, the car is now almost ready to run! just needs the fuel tank which is ready i will collect in a day or so, fit it up with the lines then set the fuel pressure and turn the key.

the only thing to sort then is wheel alignment track etc and that and i am waiting on my wings so i can then run the car and check is all working fine .... ALSO MY WHEELS ARE CLEAN

cheers chaps, james it is its a tempory measure as that much has been changed we need to se if everything is working right before i permanantly solder it on, its only the +ve for the ACT guage anyway... hopefully fingers crossed if everything works first time 1or2 small things will be adjusted permanantly ....
