Re: My Escort Cosworth...
That is not right dude. Pursue it! I was sold a S2 ERST gearbox for my ZT, via PassionFord. Finally bolted the whole car together and took it out for a gentle test drive on beiges with the chip (prior to having the engine mapped at MSD), only to discover that the diff was completely shot to bits. Fortunately, the guy was apologetic and refunded me a suitable amount. If this c0ck who sold you your gearbox has no such decency, I would do something about it! That's a big chunk of money you've been conned out of, and he's running off laughing?? Don't let it happen! Sorry to hear he's tried it on, and I hope you give it back to him in exchange for your money, or at least a good chunk of it.

s**t luck, project looks amazing.
Small claims court? May be worth while getting an engineers report too.
Whatever you do though, like James said, don't leave it, pursue it whilst the iron is hot.

wouldn't bother with small claims court mate, whole process is flawed!
bad luck though, and i know its cost more than it should but at least you're making progress and its almost done?

Re: My Escort Cosworth...
cant stand people that rip others off with crap like that
but as above, court aint worth it, would cost ya best part of 200-300 notes, if it went against him, he would say he would give you £2 a month, there honor it, and 6 months later he would stop paying you, and you would have to pay a couple hundred more to take him back to court.
take it on the chin, put it down to experiance, and go break the mother f**kers legs

Jay / Michael
I'm not sure what your experiences with the smalls claim court are but it cost me 50 quid and got me my 400 quid back. They do a financial assessment too and he was deemed to have the cash to pay it all back because I did it so quickly. This was an ebay dispute and infact I took both the buyer and paypal to small claims and they both lost having to pay fees, the buyer actually having to pay (he returned the goods in the end) and he admitted lying. Paypal paying reasonable costs for my inconvenience and breaching their own T's and C's.
Not saying every case is the same, but just the fact that you have opened legal proceedings is enough for most to get there A into G. You could always sue the guy as well, which is costlier.

it wasnt me directly, but i knew both partys involved, and it was crap, and cost a lot more than £50.
if that is all it cost, then maybe it worth the shot

Re: My Escort Cosworth...
Basically the guy concerned is a crook, lied on his advert and has financially involved a mate of his making Adams position even more difficult and less clear cut. His attitude has thus far been "Well, you paid less than market price so tough s**t." - basically he's a complete and utter bell end.

Re: My Escort Cosworth...
as mac has said, but lad has offered me £200 but repairs could cost 500 dunno till stripped. but expensive hassle lesson!
car runs now and is strong, 60-100 in 3.5s no power figure yet as rollers were busy. But mark says this turbo spools quicker than a cossie mapped on a GT3076 and makes the power better. IT drives nice, however i have a few niggles to sort so i am not driving it just now, i just fixed the launch control so all the features sorted. seom wiring melted due to a gasket blowing out from the turbo (slight confusion) but needs cutting and resoldering. I had binding from the rear which seems to be the carrier rubbing on the disc but due to my yrs of ownership the pads finally need replacing so i'm gonna remove the rear brakes fully and i have a brand new black rear disc kit some new ferredo pads and splash guards etc so that will sort the binding out. Need new frnt driveshaft boots and rack boots too so just a slight refresh here and there.
So just get things perfected then should be ready to give some real anger

You realise all these problems you're having is God's why of punishing you for years of putting your penis where it's not supposed to go?
Side exit looks good though. Didn't realise you had one. It's on the list for the RST.

Re: My Escort Cosworth...
thats only because you asked me to put it there .....
yer been on the cards since last year looks harder ha! Been doing some more mods today fitted new rear discs and pads and making a new 3 pump fuel pump loom , rather than buy 3 generic loom ones off traders i have made a custom one to suit mine at about the cost of £30 rather than £150 so its all smart and neat and exactly how i want it ... lots of little things to make it that little bit better just taking a while to get them all sorted
