FezzR :is the rear suspension setup part of the rear diff mounting?
ie would it be possible to run that suspension set up without the diff or even with a different diff,
the whole rear suspension is mounted via the rear beam, so unless you want to run rwd or 4x4, then might as well sort/set up suspension you already have.

The cossie's new AET gt30 Turbo's fitted. will get pic's up this week.
Not a straight forward as was mean't to be. Things i had to do to fit my car.
As i used my old comp housin, the actuator bracket was already done.
Make coolant pipe work (as GT core has different coolant threads)
Make a oil feed union, and oil return,
Make damper bracket,
Modifie actuator arm, to work and miss new larger exhaust housin,
Twist wastegate arm, so actuater opens and shuts fully with out bein restricted.
Grind comp housin, and exhaust manifold, as was touchin and stopin gettin comp housin in right place,
Grind exhaust housin,
1st so a damper bracket could be fitted (needed flat surface)
2nd where actuator touched exhaustin on fully open,
Open up a hole in mani and turbo matting faces, (as new turbo didn't have heli coiled threads in it, so had to use 40mm bolts and lock nuts) and as bottom rear bolt hole in mani, didn't allow space to get the new longer bolt in.
Once all fitted and tight, i pressure tested the full boost system. (no leaks at 35 psi)
Job done

I think it's the fact he's running an R&D 6 speed dog 'box that's accounting for the quick gearchanges Adam, no need to use the clutch except for at the launch
Mike Rainbird on passionford.com is selling a Fixit gearset for 4x4 Cossie boxes, capable of taking 700bhp and similar torque and has a lifetime guarantee
Can you get a stronger gearset for your R&D 'box Dan?
Cheers,
Andy

The fixit still uses the std sycro's, so gear change will only be as fast as a std box, it might have a life time warrentie on the gear set, but not the sycro's.
No R&D only do the one gear set i have, but do other ratio's.

Ahh right - just wondered as I know that there used to be a massive waiting list for the Fixit gear kit.
Got an ETA for the car to be running again - I think I read you saying that you wanted one last run at Santa Pod before the winter sets in?

andyhardy :Sweet!
What turbo is this then?
Its a GT30 core, TO4f comp housin, and a .82 internal wastegate exhaust housin.
the comp side of things and core are the same as b4, but the ex side is all new spec. as the last one had major back pressure problems.
its a AET turbo,
only 15 of them out there, but mine has my spec compressor side (bigger lb/min comp wheel than all the others, my spec )
Mark Sheads given me all the advice needed, and recommended a Aet gt30, as he's used them with good results.
it can run 3 bar boost all day long, and Aet sed their even seen 4 bar. but its gonna be runnin 2.3 - 2.8 bar in my car, as it might see max power at 2.2 bar, so just have to wait till i've run it.

Gearbox back in.
Went out in it last night, 1st time in nearly 3 months
gearbox seems fine, turbo is ok, but at mo isn't hittin full boost unless i wire wastegate shut, so need to do some testin, to find the reason.
but wen i wired the wastegate shut, it hit 33 psi @ 3950rpm, which is less laggy then the Md240r's but with a larger ex housin.
i'm Happy it dont surge at all, and its less lag.
But till its runnin full boost i can't say how good it is.
i've been workin on it all week.
i've fitted a new breather system to the gearbox, and transfere box, (and after yeaterday both are Sorted.
i set the front camber / toe on friday to -2 deegree's and toe out +1mm total.

Was at Lyyden hill yesterday, for a trackday.
but as soon as we got into the track grounds, the car cut out. at 8.40 am.
after alot of f-ckin around with different sensors, and ecu's, inc my mates stg3 saph as a test car. and soldierin in the ecu.
and help off all my mates,
Jim, Mounty, Shaun, Ben, Mike, Rich, Steve and all that helped :top:
And my star of a g/f, Kat who done a 2 hour round trip to my house to pick up my spare ecu's, ignition parts, soldierin iron and other bits needed. then went straight to work D:
and Stu @ ms developments, and Simon (s.e.c's) :top: :top:
The fault ended up bein a faulty Crank sensor,
luckly (for me) a local bloke (Paul  :top: ) in a cossie, had a fault with his power steerin pump, and coolant pipe failure, let me borrow his crank sensor.
1st session
and at 3.45 pm i was on the track for my first (of 3) session.
i was runnin 18psi boost, so around 380-420 bhp. felt rather slow.
as soon as i got out there i realized i had a mega problem with the rear end slidin around wen off power.
and after i saw a Cateram behind, i tried to push alittle more, and went abit wide on Paddock corner, and touched the gravel, which span me, the only damage was done to my rear bumper, (broke it in half) and my Mum nearly had Heart problems. (watchin me)
2nd session,
after a few suspension tweaks, and a check over went back out, with my lap timer fitted.
even thou i span it on the left hander (due to me tryin abit much, and were as the car wasn't playin ball with the rear end.
my best lap of 48.79.
3rd session,
i got the free Track instructor in the passenger in the car.
Bill Richards, who runs his own race car specialised in Ashford Kent,
Bill sed on the 2nd lap, that he dont know how i'm pushin the car so hard, with the back end as it was, (slidin) and sed straight away its the back wheels out of toe. (i already knew this as i checked the toe the night before, wen i set up the front, but didn't have time of the equipment on the car to sort).
Bill sed my only down full on drivin lines was Paddock corner, (i wasn't usin the full track, but don't forget i spun it there 1 hour before, so i was then after runnin abit more on the safer side).
Bill also sed i need to learn how to use a Dog gearbox, as i openly admit i have trouble with it, other than goin in a staight line
He wanted to take me out, with him driving, so i can see how to use the box probertly, but as it was the last session, so he offered to show next time we're both at Lydden.
Bill thought if the car was 50 bhp less, the suspension was set up, and i was able to use the gear box probertly thinks it would be the fastest car out there today. (rather than bein slightly slower than the caterham and other track cars there).
i manage to spin it on the left handed again, with bill in with me, he sed it was down to me playin with the gearbox, and the rear end slidin due to the problem sed above.
best in that session i got a 48.60 lap.
Thanks to bill as he's given me alot of help, and recommended the suspension settings i need for my car.
wot a star  :top: Thanks mate.
My brother was also there, drivin his 300bhp Pulser.
He also had problems, a mega oil leak, due to fittin a oil cooler in the early hours of the same day, in the end he removed the oil cooler, and was out there (only missed the first 3 sessions)
but after 5 laps, would have to slow down, cos the oil temps were to high.
He managed lots of 50's and 51's, alot more consistant than myself, think best of his was a 50.70 second lap. well down. (but come on 2 seconds behind, how slow is that. :blabla: )

Sounds like a very very useful day What problems are you having with using the gearbox in particular? What an arse the rear end wouldn't play ball. Having seen Rodge building his 4x4 Fiesta at the minute, I had a brief moment visualising driving a RWD Fiesta, then driving a 4x4 Fiesta, and a got a very clear impression of how it must drive. It must be facking good fun, was the general outcome!! I can imagine even though it's 4x4 it must still need a bit of care on tight corners under power, being so short, but in general, just bloody brilliant
What's the next outing for the car going to be? Do you drive it on the roads at all? Obviously sorting the rear end out isn't to big a deal if sorting the toe settles it down, but it'd be good to get some miles working with the gearbox

its all about smooth gear changes, and doin it 2nd nature, where i have to think about it.
its a road car, so does 90% of the miles on the road.
it will be goin to Bruntingthorpe at least once more this year, inc goin to the pod once more, then i guess it will be back out in the new year.
