Re: my fiesta rs turbo(fast ford featured)
bit up a update, got a few bits done since it's return from the painters, refurbed bailey header tank and swirl pot have been fitted, found the leak which I thought was coming from the bottom of the swirl pot seems to be coming from the pipe between the thermostat and swirl pot either way it needs a new top rad hose and because everything is white it's a special order item that has to be specially made that has been paid for and ordered a week or so before Christmas, I've polished up the exhaust system underneath the car, been on there at least 15 years and never done looks a lot better fitted some poly exhaust mounts too, had a go at heat wrapping the turbo elbow and the downpipe, never done it before but has come out well, certinaly seen a lot worse
stripped all these off the rs over the weekend, going to be pro flocked on Saturday, found a local company to do it, there work looks very impressive and he seems very enthusiastic about doing it too, I need to strip the existing flock and glue off before the parts go to him, easier said than done I think
everything stripped and dropped down to the flockers, seems a top bloke
the flocker sent me a few photos tonight almost done, just a few bits he wasn't totally happy with which is being redone
I've had a spare set of roof strips dipped in carbon, not quite sure if it'll work or be a bit to much, it's just such a massive contrast compared to what's on it at the moment, I guess if it was on a red, black or grey car they wouldn't stand out as much as on a gleaming white car, think it's either going to work and look awesome or look terrible

I'm still not totally sure, everyone I've asked said they look good but I'm just trying to get a lot of different opium's before I make a final decision, it all ready has the bonnet vents, single wiper smooth arm & fog/spot light surrounds done and ill guess it follows the theme through the car, just wonder if it's too much

Re: my fiesta rs turbo(fast ford featured)
secret is out, well sort of
for those of you who don't know, jano(OKC) is building me a steel cvh engine for my fiesta for when mine needs replacing, bit of a long term plan, but it seems to be the way everyone's going rather than standard rebuilds and would be nice to have something a bit special to put in my fiesta when the time comes to replace it
wossner forged pistons & piston rings
PEC steel rods
ARP conrod bolts
brand new genuine ford oil pump found after a 600 hour online search imported from harf way round the world, proberly one of the last ones available
genuine ford oil pickup pipe
collected a sump off jano
sump has been dropped off today to be media blasted inside and out and powdercoated on the outside, I was going to have it powdercoated gloss black but the powdercoater recommended a satin black finish for a few reasons, first being it will not show up any imperfections as much being satin and secondly proberly a nearer finish to how it would have been origionally

fezzRS :Woukd look better with green stripes back on
thanks for the reply and your opium, but I prefere it as it is, without the green stripes in the front or rear bumper would look very weird and I'm certinally not re modelling the front and rear bumpers just for the green stripes, I also think it gives it a much cleaner look without them which is the look I've gone for

collected sump from powdercoaters
rose jointed lower arms and rose jointed track rod ends
all on and lazer tracked up now
strip down and re paint of all brake calipers in hi temp paint, really pleased with how they came out, also new rear discs and rear pads took the opertunity to change the upgrade the brake fluid from .4 to 5.1, don't know if it makes any odds but was well overdue to be changed anyway

not sure if it'll quite make it but don't think it'll be far off, got plans for a fancy ib5 stage 3 box with a quife diff which is rated at 300bhp which will handle the power

yes definatly mate, the gearbox is being built by a company called G.E.A.R.S. think they are in southport way, we've had a few in depth emails and they've said they are quite a few different types of ib5 casing and understand the engine I have and everything will be build so it's a straight fitment, I'm waiting for the engine to be built before the box can be ordered, there is no point in me ordering the fancy gearbox if it's going to sit in the back of the garage for another year and the warentee will be over before it's even been fitted

hello pal, yes the track rod ends and arms are from compbrake, when I was looking for some it was the only company around making them, I know area 6 used to do them too but wasn't trading at the time
they were a complete nightmare fitting them the arms were fine but the track rod ends needed a lot of modifying, as for how they feel the ride is a bit firmer which you might expect and bumps in the road are a lot more noticeable but the steering is a lot more responsive both in steering input and in torque steer from the engine too and feels better through the corner, I set the camber up standard which was recommended as it's a road car but putting a few degrees of camber would be even more responsive but would ruin my soft tyres on the motorway so it seemed the best compromise for me, hope this helps

Re: my fiesta rs turbo(fast ford featured)
basicly it's in 2 pieces a sleve that screws onto the steering rack and the rose joint screws into the sleve and a bolt going through into the hub as you might see by looking back at my photos, first off let me say the actual build quality is amazing, but it looks like they have done one for every car in the ford range don't know if that's the case or not but it's not with fiesta's a pal has them on his s2 as well and he's had to do a similar thing too, first off had to drill the hub hole out to accept there bolt which wasn't a big deal but when you screw them onto the rack they don't wind on any where near far enough, I had to cut 30mm off the rack each side and another 20mm off the sleve and thread, how they can say they are designed for this car is beyond me but still well worth doing
I know what you mean about them being a pain in the arse, I ended up getting mine through neil davies(ND tuning) they worked out a bit cheaper that way too

Re: my fiesta rs turbo(fast ford featured)
can i be cheeky and ask how much you can get em for?
this sounds fairly simmilar to my pedal box. was no where near and i had to send back, the second was better but still off in holes for servo. in the end i elongated the holes silightly. they claimed it was the correct ratio from pedel to box..... no offence was a lot of the brown smelly stuff!
i had to modify the ratio grrr. i know a few people who have had same kind of issues. hence its put me off their stuff.
might give em a shakedown at autosport and see how discounted they will do a set.

me a neil go back a long way, he wrote my feature when he worked there and I've known him for a long time, but I think the arms were £300 delivered and the track rod ends were £80-85 delivered, I don't know what deals he can do for anyone else but I think it's 10-15% off there list price
