Nice find with the wind deflectors. I've got two sets, one set used and the others brand new in the box.

Cheers Eddie
Will be doing the front panel first, (and maybe the front wings), then it will be going on the jig
In the meantime, its good to have abit of danger in your life, gets the adrenaline going

Re: My Fiesta RS Turbo project (*UPDATE 14/11/11-NEW BITS!*)
Time for a little update
I have to say a big thankyou to rs220bhp, who very kindly said that I could take anything I wanted off his shell he is breaking for my car to sort the rusty arch and a-pillar, so I went down to his place (3 1/2 hour drive each way!) on saturday and set to with the angle grinder! The shell is completely rust free and mint, and I'm delighted with the parts I got to sort mine out
I also bought a genuine ford front wing off him while I was there for mine, which I'm also delighted with
Anyway, here are some pics of what I got:
Also the a pillar and a few other bits from under the car/wheelarch:
So I now have all the metal I need that you cannot buy as repair panels to completely sort my rst
Let me know what you think

Hell yea, may the fun commence
The shell I got the bits off was fully seam welded too, so its extra strong but also extra effort to cut what I need

Re: My Fiesta RS Turbo project (*UPDATE 14/11/11-NEW BITS!*)
Cheers buddy
Not sure yet, will have to have a think. I'm hoping to use the rear wing off the white shell as well as the inner arch, as it is genuine and completely rust free. Just need to work out the best plan of action in terms of getting as much of the white shell's metal onto my car.....

Glad you got all the bits back safe mate, was good to meet you on sat. I'm just glad it could be put to use by someone else and to help keep another car on the road.
If you need any little bits let me know mate cos the shell will be going next week sometime
Same goes for anyone else it's all rust free solid metal

Re: My Fiesta RS Turbo project (*UPDATE 09/01/12-WING*)
Small update
Dont know if any of you have heard, but Hadrian body panels went bust at the end of November (fooking recession! ), so not only are the genuine ford panels pretty much impossible to get, and stupidly priced when they do pop up, the best pattern parts are also very hard to get now too
Anyway, after alont of searching, I finally managed to track down a hadrian rear p/s wing for the RS in Northern Ireland! It was old stock and had been sat in the company's warehouse for years, so had a bit of surface rust, but other than that, was completely mint. Got it for an extremely good price too
Anyway, over xmas, I first sandblasted the panel, then sanded it further with wet and dry, then gave it a couple of coats of undercoat to stop any further rust. So its now mint and all ready to weld onto the car, am very pleased
Pics:
When it arrived:
Sandblasted:
Wet and dried:

Thats all for the time being, but I finally have all the panels needed for the rebuild, am well happy

Re: My Fiesta RS Turbo project - AN ACTUAL UPDATE!!! (08/05/13)
Well, after a massive amount of time, I can finally update this thread with some actual progress!
As some of you already know, the plan is to take the car to a local bodyshop to get all the welding done (using all the panels I have collected for the job) followed by a full respray, as time and life commitments mean that me and my dad no longer have the time to do this ourselves.
It will be taken to them as a "back burner" project, to do as and when time allows, rather than a "main" job. I have been saving up for ages now to get this done, and am now close enough to get the ball rolling
In preparation to take it down, I did the following whilst over in wales over the bank holiday:
Removed windscreen
Removed front and back wipers
Removed sunroof
Removed ariel
Removed side repeaters and rear clusters
Removed rear numberplate
Removed rear pop outs
Removed green strips
Removed all the junk from inside the car
Very close to being ready to take down to them now, just need to do a couple more bits and bobs then get it off the blocks and trailered down
Feeling the love again, and excited to get the ball rolling once more!
Some pics:
Reason for removing windscreen (i have a new a pillar to go on ):
All comments welcome
