Re: My Fiesta RS Turbo project(update 02/11/10*Winterised+Hose*)
Slight update.
My RS has got a new handbrake cable on it but its a pattern part rather than genuine ford and basically, the adjuster sometimes slips along the cable if you yank the handbrake up. This makes the handbrake basically useless lol so I had put some cable ties behind the adjuster to prevent it slipping but obviously this isnt ideal
Genuine ford ones cost like £70 at ford which is just silly so that wasnt an option but I managed to win one on ebay the other day for a grand total of £6.50! Am well happy!
Here it is:
So I will be fitting this before she goes back on the road next year and all will be good!

Looks immense mate. Should have been how Ford did it originally!
Can I ask what ever happened to the other red RS? Did you get it all finished up and sold on with the clear fronts, mk3 coded mirrors etc?
Cheers,
Lee

The other RS is still in my hands. Its just about done now, I will be putting the engine back in over christmas then it just needs a couple more bits and pieces and it will be ready to sell.
It will be sold around Easter time all being well

jonyb4 :awww what about the RS
Going to strip the running gear off the underside and get her painted up red like the other one, she has had a full restoration underneath but in black underseal to finish off and I want it red. Going for a full on concours look but dont worry, I will still be driving her as she should be driven once its all done
Thats next years project hence she wont be on the road

Re: My Fiesta RS Turbo project(*UPDATE 31/12/10 - ENGINE IN!*)
Update time!
Since finishing uni for xmas I have been working solidly on my first RST every day to get it all finished and ready to sell on, and am really pleased with the progress I have made, and as of yesterday morning the engine is now snuggly sat in the engine bay!
I will let the progress pics do the talking:
Jacked up ready for work:
Cleaned up and painted sump:
Cleaned up and painted gearbox cradle:
Cleaned up and painted spindle carriers and brake hose brackets:
Cleaned up and painted manifold:
Engine fully built up with all new seals etc:
Clutch on:
Gearbox on:
Engine ready to go in:
Engine in:
Underneath now:
Needless to say I'm delighted to have got this much done over xmas. The next job is to rebuild the front suspension and connect everything back up to the engine, which I will start tomorrow (hangover permitting )
Let me know what you think
