My Gen6 Toyota Celica GT
thought it would be time to get a thread up on here as ive not been on in a while i got this last yr after the pug got wrote off by a goon who cant drive, but anywhoo, its a generation 6 toyota celica gt, got it at an ok price of £795 but it came with no history but hey ho, it started and drove perfect, the mods it already had were:
heat wrapped manifold
decat
cat back system
Pipercross induction kit
Gt4 spoiler riser blocks
17" multispoke rims
Yellowstuff pads all around
here are the pics when i got it home
First job to sort was to take off the four stickers on the riser blocks on the spoiler to leave the GT, (this will be changed soon )
Next job was to remove the orange side repeators for some clear ones
Before
After
I then bought a rear strut brace and space saver wheel to free up some space
Next came an import rear numberplate holder as i didnt like the long plate that was on it
Time to get on the track went to combe for the day in september for the action day so some pics of the shed on there
Next was to de tango the front indicators
And a quit tilt shift pic from my phone
Car was off the road for a while over xmas and new yr because the clutch didnt like the gearbox no more and broke it to pieces so a few pics of that for you to see
This is what i found after i hear a loud bang and metal flying everywhere
And here are the rest
all that was fixed so started getting other stuff like this sticker
as it keeps breaking down (jap crap) i thought it would be best to get a towing hook as there isnt anything on the celica at the front, so bought a TRS tow strap, it just needs to be drilled and bolted in place but this is where it is going
but now the car is off the road BROKE again with a dodgey clutch around a month of it being fitted to the car and it does this
so as the car stands at the mo, its on my parents drive in bits waiting for me to get chance to fit the new clutch and the gearbox back in
1 last thing, i sprayed the front and rear badges (this is the colour the wheels are going )
Ooooh sparkly
In the middle of spraying the rear strut brace and bonnet spoiler in the same colour then hopefully the wheels will be going that colour once i get some money thats it for now tho, next time i go up to the car im going to be taking the rear spoiler off so i can sort the riser blocks out by filling in the -four and respraying them satin black
Loads left to do on the car so heres a list of jobs
- Fit 40mm springs
- Refurb wheels and spray orange
- Respray riser blocks to satin black and fill in -four
- Get orange GT sticker for riser blocks
- Full detail on the whole thing
thats it for now, bye

far as we can tell your planning a 2.0 turbo for next year yourself... so would be a tight mission imo

Nope not had much luck with clutches 3rd rile
Luckly maybe? Wayne hopefully i shlould be able to pass you as i will have a better clutch and the tyres should be able to maintain some grip if its wet, oh might have have 4pot calipers on by then too so shouldnt be a prob then
Unless you have your zt in by then then i might struggle, but u never know i passed a scooby in the pug so anything is possible

Raising the leading edge of a bonnet?? Rather you than me dude! I'd have to drive with my eyes shut if I went any faster than 50mph with that being tugged about by the wind! o

Re: My Gen6 Toyota Celica GT
Should be getting paid finally from my old job so can spend a few pennies on my car with some interior goodies, problem is i dont know what to have the stuff covered in, my choices are leather with orange stitching or black alcantara with orange stitching, i will be getting my gearknob in leather with orange but the gear gaitor, handbrake cover and arm rest i am still unsure what are your thoughts?

Re: My Gen6 Toyota Celica GT
ooh not updated this in a while, few new goodies been added to this now
first lot of goodies
collected the celica and took it to its new resting place, it was filthy so gave it abit of a wash before it went into its new home, as you might be able to tell, the front is lowered but the rear isnt as the rear shocks were pooped when i went to put the springs on, but that doesnt matter now as i have the coilies to fit
here it is in a sorry state
low
sparkly clean
and in its new resting place
more new goodies
2 10" fans
and an ally rad
fitted my ally rad and fans (just need to wire them up) and fitted my rear badge finally looks muchos better now than it did with the horrid glue residue
picked up the 1st part to my engine conversion
i think the cat likes them too
will be going back next monday to fit the coilovers and wire the rad fans up
new parts arrived this morning
no more horrible rear lights woop
some of the car now with no riser blocks and low
my fave pic
got some more new bits in the post this morning in the shape of polybushes for the wishbones, a pair of uprated crush tubes and a pair of poly gear linkage bushes
rear light change
looks much better was going to detango them but dont think i can be bothered butchering them, (lets see in a few months tho)
shiney suspension
polybush time
all snug
never ever want to replace a wishbone again, what a pain in the arse they are, and it took around an hour to push the old bushes out of the wishbone to replace with the poly ones too, best be worth it more to come when im there again
thats how the car stands for now, still plenty to do
fit handbrake kit (shoes, cables, accessories)
sort leaking fuel filler neck
change decat for a cat (then change back after mot )
sort wiring for the freeview box
refurb wheels and fit the spec 2s to them
full detail inside and out
MOT it
TAX it
Insure it
and away i go

had a feeling you would be the 1st to reply
i was going to detango the rear lights, but for what they cost me and what i would need to do im going to leave it, works well as it goes with the badge and its not as IN YOUR FACE orange now
still need to save up for my new engine
