Cheers guys
Cheers dude
I couldnt believe how much the mk2 tailgate was annoying me until I got the mk1 one on, just looked wrong before
Getting a fiesta badge when I can locate one to finish it off nicely
Dont worry, its just an illusion that the cables are close to the alternator, they are actually down by the bottom front beam
Glad to hear it mate
Cheers mate. Haha, well your right, its off the road and tucked away for the winter now! Was just too good to use in the salt, couldnt bring myself to do it so the si is now the daily, RS and MK1 winterised
knuckles :100 million billion trillion times better !
tailgate looks the bees knees - finish it off with a fiesta 1.1 decal
your battery cables look scary close to the alternator belt from that pic !
Cheers dude

Re: My Mk1 Fiesta Project - *Update 11/10/10 - Badges*
A small update:
Since getting the tailgate sorted I've wanted the proper badges for her as would have come from the factory, but have been searching for weeks with nothing. Then the other day a guy off fiesta-mk1.co.uk posted up on my thread that he had a couple of "Ford" ones and an "L" badge too.
Was well happy as it meant that all I would need to get then would be the 1.1 badge.
Anyway, we did the deal and he sent them to me, but said that he had included a little surprise in the package.
It turned up at the weekend and I was well happy to find the surprise was that he had also sent me a "1.1" badge, another spare "L" badge and some double sided sticky stuff to stick them on!
Really good to know there are still people out there like that, who go out of their way to help out
So i now have all the badges i need (in really good nick too!), plus a spare "L" badge and cant wait to get them fitted
Here's a pic of them :
Let me know what you think

Re: My Mk1 Fiesta Project - *Update 02/12/10 - Purchased Parts!*
I think its about time for an update!
I have been collecting parts for the mk1 over the past few week ready for when I sort it out ready for FITP next year. Cant wait to get cracking but in the meantime, here are the parts I have managed to get hold of:
Brand new genuine ford wing mirrors:
Mk1 fiesta jack as I didnt have one:
New clock as mine doesnt work:
Ultra rare boot tray:
Brand new AA badge for the front grille:
Full set of mk1 fiesta documentation including accessories brochure and dealership guide:
Spare expansion tank as the lid is broken on mine:
Set of pressed aluminium plates (the first set I recieved, I wasnt pleased with the spacing of the letters and numbers (the set on the top of the pic) so the company did me another set free of charge (the set at the bottom of the pic)):
Pair of switches as the white paint has worn off mine:
Thats it for the time being, but there will be more to follow!
Cant wait to get cracking with the project ready for FITP next year!

The AA badge is great attention to detail Dave, i'd have a period RAC one on my Fiesta but it would look totally out of place on that, stuck on the intercooler
Looks like some great finds anyway, really nice about the badges too

Got the plates from here mate:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160493660703&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Was a really good price and as i say, got a set for free as I wasnt happy with the original set
I think there is one of those boot tidy's on ebay at the moment mate, search under mk1 fiesta

Cheers mate, means alot
I think its little detail touches that really make a car, hence the AA badge, and it would just look silly on a mk3 so its good to take the oppertunity with the mk1
Thanks for the nice comments

Re: My Mk1 Fiesta Project - *Update 02/12/10 - Purchased Parts!*
Its the details that make a difference to a car mate, and the jack is well and truely necessary, as are the wing mirrors. Its dangerous on the roads of today only having one mirror
