My new "old" Fiesta ST update 9.6.13

Postby black2 on Fri Oct 08, 2010 8:21 pm

Hi all,

Some of the longer standing members may recall I bought a FST new in Sept 2005 but sadly had to sell it 2007 to do some jobs on the house. I was bored a the other week and started looking at FST's, I could'nt belive it when i stumbled accross my old car and just new I had to have it back :D

The car has been very very well looked after by the the owner that I sold it to, when I sold it it had 25000 on the clock and now has 63k. They have also done a few modifications some I like some not to sure on. Its been lowered by roughly 30mmish and looks way way better. The wheels have been powdercoated Grey I do like this but it needs the centre caps put back on as it looks stupid being able to see the horrible wheels nuts and drive shaft nuts etc. I have 2 of them but apperntly on these cars they are prone to falling off? Anyway I will defo be getting some replcaments. Other mods are K & n air filter and braided brakes lines. Not to sure on the airfilter, I have the standard air box so i might re-fit this at some point.

There are a couple of things which need putting right, the Ford badge on the hatch has gone all manky and the drivers side door card has a crack in it so will be getting a new one of them also. today I started by cleaning off the underside with warm water then removed the front wheels to clean all the arch liners and inner arches out. Think im going to paint the inside of the arches in silver, its silver at the mo but gone a bit past its best.

It feels nice to drive it again and still smells new inside like the day I got it off the delaer. Just planning on keeping it tidying the bits up that ive mentioned and looking after it.

heres a few pics i took on my phone earlier.

Jay - As said their not the correct caps, but cheers anyway.

Jony - what issues? The biggest issue is the crack on the door card, and the other a Ford badge which has lost some of its Blue. To most people these would'nt even be a problem its only becuase I want it look 100% again in all aspects. The mileage is not bad really, its bang on average if you take 12k a year as the bench mark. Im very happy with it and wont be selling it again now for a good while.

Might do a few minor modifications such as replacing the deliberate restriction in the exhaust. Yesterday I gave the body a clean and wiped down with clearkote quick shine which is awesome. Will be having it serviced at the end of the month to keep the FFSH and replacing the wheel caps. More updates as and when.

sorry mate i wasnt quite with it last night :(

does look good, not sure why but i prefere the mk6 to the .5 as theyre more rare and the lights look great, the silver and graphite wheels work well

you gonna spay the caps n the same colour i spose then? try using a smidge of glue when putting them on, only enought o hold them but still you can break them off for needs be

Not much of an update but bought the missing part to complete 165 upgrade.

Hope to fit one evening in the week. Also got my eye on a dreamscience re-map to complement the stage 1 upgrade.

Tis expensive if you buy it new, but in todays world you have to be a bit silly to pay that much new when you can get it half price on flea bay

Money well spent as when i first bought the car I fitted one (removed it when i sold it).

Bored, not updated this for ages.

Nothing really changed on the car, just keeping it maintained and clean. Seeing as the weather was so good this weekend and the fact it was my birthday I took Saturday morning off work, got up early and cleaned the car before it got to hot.

Heres a few pictures of it :

They may not be the fastest things on the road, but by God they're very very good to drive.

Agree with that. But very good all rounder's and if you want to they are also very tuneable.

Unfortunately I did.

I sold it in April 2011 iirc. It went to a guy in Somerset so it may not be to far from you? He did try selling it a while back on ebay but to my knowledge it did not sell, whether he still has it or not im not sure.
