Re: My Polo - Someone doesn't like me.
Went out this afternoon to find this has been keyed, the wing kicked in and wing mirror booted off.
All happened because I tried to do someone a favour - I rang the police but I know whos done it and will be doing something a about it soon enough.

Re: My Polo - Someone doesn't like me.
basically the story is, my best mates girlfriend has a 20 month old girl and the dad never bothered when she was pregnant, was and still is a dick. now i dont like him - even more so now. but he inboxed me saying a lot of stuff about me being a prick and "say it to my face" so i responded telling him to grow up a little and realise what he has - told him that since jan ive made sure his daughter has food and clothes because he hasnt.
after that he decided to repay my kindness by smashing up my nice car.
that was the last thing i needed after recent events, im literally at the end of my tether now. i feel sorry for him.

Re: My Polo - Pictures of the Damage.
oh yeah! i forgot i didnt even upload them...
the keying starts under the mirror and cars on to the rear arch, the mirror ni that picture is taped on but was booted so hard that the metal bracket it was held on by snapped so nothing i can do and as you can see theres a nice size 10 dent.
im seeing him tomorrow to talk to him face to face and ask him to pay for it - hopefully he has the bottle to come see me. i want it sorting without anymore violence now ive calmed down.

ive been to the police, showed them to conversation and told them it was him. obviously no evidence as he never admitted to it.
but i really hope talking to him like a man will make him realise he was an idiot.

Re: My Polo - Pictures of the Damage.
That was done with a weapon, a bat of some description. Entirely the wrong pattern on the wing for a foot (unless it's actually made of paper).
I'd tread carefully.

Re: My Polo - Pictures of the Damage.
a weapon? to some degree it still could have been done with his foot then
can you be sure of that?
im not trying to act big, but im still not taking this lying down, the trail leads to him and his mate, if he's used a bat he's a bigger girl than i first suspected.

Re: My Polo - Pictures of the Damage.
A foot wouldn't make that crease on the top of the wing, I'd say Andy was right. Also, I wouldn't go in all fighty though, no disrespect but you're not exactly built like a brick 5h1thouse.

nick, do you even lift?
i know i know! thats why ive changed my approach and i want a word with him. im doing it when his dads about too because he lives off his parents and doesnt work and his parents hate him already for having a kid and fudgekin it off - its a shame they're actually really nice. you're literally the tenth person today to tell me the same thing.
and with regards to the wing, i do agree it does look like a bat or something similar, in which case im not scared because it was outside were i live and he obviously didnt dare come and use it on me even though he knew where my car would be so knows where i live...

No, but not really relevant as I'm not going around threatening to shove a wing mirror up someones arse.

Re: My Polo - Pictures of the Damage.
Come on fellas, no need for this. Mike if you are worried about monies, then pay for a mirror, but try and get the wing pushed out, wait til you can find a 2nd hand one in that colour, dont worry about fitting it because they are a piece of piss, just take the light out and there is bolts long the top and one behing the light and one at the back near the sill i think. The only issue that i remamber was all the glue that held it in place, it might be slightly different on the 6n2 to the 6n but as they are nearly the same car, probably not have youtried t cut on the side??

Re: My Polo - Pictures of the Damage.
if it was a bat or some sort of weapon wouldnt it of left some sort of scuff, there might be one but from the pic i cant see one.where the dent is placed isnt really consistant with using a weapon because it looks like a side impact not from above,if that makes sense.
in reply to johny,if you woke up one morning and someone had keyed your car (you cant tell how deep the scratch is from the pic) knocked the mirror off and dented your wing would you just shrug it off?dont be silly, your 1st thought would be to come on here as you love the attention.
a new mirror + a new wing + full side of paint (if the scratchs dont come out) aint gonna cost £20.
and i no for sure if i woke up to the damage and knew who had done it i wouldnt be talking to him about it.

Not necessarily. A single, directed blow would cause that. I'd also say the indentation is too sharp in terms of angle and too narrow to have been made by a foot (think how wide a persons foot is and how the force would be distributed.
I'm no expert but I've seen plenty of damaged vehicles; to me that's not consistent with someone kicking the wing in.
