Re: My RS - Omex 600 - :-D
its been quite a while since i have updated this thread due to buying a house.
the fiesta has just had its mot and went straight thru having only done 700 miles in the last year!!!
unfortunately it has suffered a failure in the chip it was running which was a specific power engineering chip. i tried a copying the chip and trying a different ecu but o no avail the chip was gone.
so... rather than spend 300 on a untunable 195 chip i have bought everything for omex 600 for about £650 and it is due to be mapped at TOTD next wednesday so watch this space!!!!
more updates and photos to follow in the next week!!

Re: My RS - newly Mapped
alrite marky hows tricks? im all good, cars taken a backseat since buying the house but all good.
been at torque of the devil most of today and after a bit of tweaking and fiddling i have the RS back running good again.
187.2BHP @ 18psi boost and 189 lbs/ft.
happy with the results as there is a lot more to give. the cam is not helping matters and there is valve float at high revs so a new cam is on the shopping list.
beige injectors are at 100% capacity at 4500 rpm and stay there all the way up so larger injectors needed!!
finally there is more to give if i make the step to a bigger turbo - decisions decisions!!
overall very happy with the results and the car is so much more tunable and more importantly driveable. idles much better and pulls much better through the rev range.
roll on Classic Ford!!

Max - your thinking along the right sort of lines!!
Gav - fuel pressure is still good enough but the injectors just won't work any harder! Bit of an odd one really unless they're just old! Can't complain though, car definately runs, idles and drives better on the new management.
Bring on the trumpets!!

Re: My RS - Re Mapped and more goodies
Time for another update.
been a busy year this year for the RS! ben treated to loads! even with the expense of a house!!!
picked the car back up this morning from TOTD where its been for a week having a newman cam fitted, double valve springs and solid lifters.
also had a set of focus RS injectors fitted and got plans for a larger turbo but not until ive paid this work off!!
i wasnt there when it was mapped but have shown both before and after graphs below. not a massive increase in power or torque but where it is certainly helps. no more running lean at top end either!
car definately feels more responsive on the throttle and this is replicated by the higher torque lower down the rev range.
roll on santa pod sunday!!!

Re: My RS - Re Mapped and more goodies
well a year since an update and not much has changed really, the car is taking a back seat for a year while a save for the wedding!
however like most things i get distracted and so i am looking at putting in stack guages instead of the revotech ones, re designing the centre guage mount and having 4 guages slightly angled to the driver, kenlowe slim line fan to replace the crap loud and energy sapping original ford one, then set up the omex to run the cooling hopefully to keep the temps down lower.
it does need some attention to the bodywork at some point but flew through the MOT this year so no complaints at all.
i am looking at getting a new map from torque developments at lakeside but thats going to be a few quid so definately going to wait for that!
was good to get it up to Ford Fair, first car show of the year for me.

I'm good mate how about yourself? Yeah bit the bullet and thought I'd ask her! Net June so not far away.
Launch control... Well... It was fitted but for less time than I owned it! It's not all it's cracked up to be! Plus the omex 600 could control it now plus anti lag if I really wanted!! one of the best things I have done i think is to fit the omex ecu.
Everything is so easily controllable now.

Re: My RS - Re Mapped and more goodies
cant believe I haven't updated this thread for nearly 2 years!
well the rs has only done 500 miles in the last year due to getting married last year, however I did manage to get it to torque developments for a half day tune and found that it had previously been mapped on a n/a map so was nowhere near right. so they resolved this for me and set it up.
however the time has come for the mot and unfortunately the good old tin worm has set in for good.
drivers arch, passenger footwell and passenger arch, both rear sills where they meet the rear arches.
so once the kit was off I could have a closer look. its by no means the worst ive seen and it is being fixed! just waiting for the panels to turn up and then its into the bodyshop for the welding, back to me for finishing and then back to be sprayed! having a full respray as im replacing both front wings, rear arch repair panels and also doing the filler cap repair just to prevent any issues in the future. also fixing the small amount of rust that's at the bottom of the a pillar and also other little bits that are showing - by the seat mounts etc.
definitely the most ive taken off the car so far and its got more to come off!
anyway a few pics. since these were taken the dash is not basically out, all the kit off, front and back bumpers off!
I will try and update as the car progresses but am really looking forward to getting it all done and enjoying it!

When it goes to get sprayed I'm taking as much out / off as possible!
Windows, seals, spoiler, green stripes, roof rails, if I can take it off to get a proper job then I will!

Re: My RS - stripped out!
So the rust was pretty bad and its taken me until now but it now has, new front wings, patched sills and passenger footwell, new front valance, rear arches both sides, filler cap, and the inner sill next to the suspension mounts.
also fixed the small bit of rust at the base of the a pillar.
got a few little patches I want to deal with before it gets sprayed such as by the seatbelt mounts and on the door seals where the rubbers meet, but it is nice to know im doing it right and taking the time over it.
anyway a few pics of how it was this afternoon and how it was after I went at it!
cant wait to get it sprayed! got to change the engine mount on Wednesday as that's fcuked!

Looking good! Did you do the driver's side rear arch in two sections then?
Mine desperately needs doing now, both sides
What were your inner arches like?

Re: My RS - Re Mapped and more goodies
Yeah the drivers side was absolutely fine through the middle so didn't want to touch the original bit and kit mounts so just did what was needed.
The inner arch on the drivers side has had a small repair but the passenger side was fine!
I though the bodywork was ok on this but it is amazing what the kit hides!
But I do now know this is solid! I've missed out on 1 show season to ensure I can make plenty more.
Can't wait to have a nice shiny red (fastest) car! Been a bit milky for the last few years!!

Rob it was sprayed by autocare in mitcham and I'm really happy tbh . The welding was done by a local guy to me who took his time and said he had done it as if it was his own! Will get more pics when it's not raining!
Jon - thanks! Are you sure you want Ollie's morettes??? Lol

Re: My RS - Re Mapped and more goodies
Yep all back together, except for the green strips on the bumpers I've done everything else.
Been quite a slow process as I built an extension as well!
I got it together minus the trims for classic ford, drive there and ran a couple of runs before the turbo gave up so I got back had it rebuilt and now it is like a dream!
Will post some pics soon!
