Was in reading yesterday to see my sister and also to collect my new wheels, and here they are fitted.

need to drop the coilovers just a touch i think but i like it!
have also now fitted the red rocker cover and black charge carrier, and a rubber rocker gasket so no more leaks!

not many pics and i will get some proper ones soon, but heres the few off my phone.

Been a bit Quiet on the car front of late, been working loads and not had great weather.

But now... i have a few updates, finally i have fitted my omex rev limiter and launch control! its awesome and love backfiring the motor in the middle of a busy high street

also now collected my standard bonnet and fitted that alongside my headlight protectors.

and got an alloy radiator to fit, but thats at the weekend. though i would include the photos of it anyway!

and before anyone says so, i know it needs a wash!!!!

just got back from engine advantages having just had a power run/ check up on the motor.

quite happy with the outcome, torque is up on before, power is around the same.

the only down side is my rear housing is likely to have a crack in it as my boost is all over the place, so either need to get it repaired or look into some other options. hinking maybe the gt25 route as i still dont really fancy the t3 route.

i will upload the graph when photobucket isnt being so gay!

Feersum_Enjin :A crack internally or the housing itself?

just in the housing the initial thoughts are, it was still around 15psi but was up and down all over.

shouldnt be too difficult to just find a replacement housing for mine, compared to a whole new unit.

cheers

Re: My RS - in pieces!

Postby Dave_B on Tue Nov 25, 2008 7:09 pm

right then, since the last update i have only driven the car once and i broke it!!

the alternator has finally given up the ghost. it has had enough of drinking oil!!

so heres how it stood at the start of the day!

Image

little bit of rust to sort on the valance

Image
Image

and how it ended

Image

one of the culprits to this condition

Image

so now just need to wait for the new alternator to be delivered, gaskets from ford, find an uncracked exhaust housing, and refit my pro alloy rad.

then try and get back to enjoying driving it!!!

while its off mate id get that front valence sorted mate, that in the picture is the turbine housing and i cant see no cracks there???? also why is it drinking oil mate?

in future you can take the turbo off by dropping it under the car

Rob, I am gonna sort the valence got a generator and wire wheel sorted, just going to get rid of the rust, red oxide
It and hammerite it back in. The alternator has been drinking oil as the turbo feed has had a little leak
For months!

It's forced me into doing the work sooner than expected but means I get back to full boost and put the
Alloy rad on sooner!

Just frustrating I have barely driven it.

Finally after nearly 2 months i have got all the parts i needed together and fitted them all up!

so a brand new turbine housing was sourced from turbo technics, great guys there! spoke to to ford parts and sourced a new header tank and cap, accelerator cable, chargecarrier bolts and washers, battery and alternator.

it took me 4 attempts to get the right alternator thanks to the indistinguished ruffians at euro car parts!

while i was waiting for the parts to turn up i have degreased some of the engine bay. and of course tidy up that tin worm on the front valence just to keep it at bay.

also i have fitted up the pro alloy rad and showed increased cooling temps already.

ill let the pics show my progress.

Image

Image

oh and the first time the cars had frost on it in over 2 years!
Image

no tin worm...
Image
Image

Image

i also gave all the hoses a good clean with cif! brilliant stuff for getting grease off.
Image

thats all for now
