My RS1800

Ok, heres one of my other Fiestas, a 1994 M Plate RS1800

I Bought this a couple of weeks ago because it was an absolute bargain! :o

It has a full service history and just over 60,000 miles on the clock

As you will see, a previous owner has added RS turbo bumpers, bonnet, and opening rear windows. Headlight protectors, and it also came with an RS Turbo spoiler (not fitted) and a spare set of arches and side skirts. Along with quite a few other spare parts which was a nice surprise.

Its a very original and well looked after car, there are a few small issues to sort out though.

It could do with a bit of bodywork and a full respray, there are quite a few minor dents, scratches, and chips when you look up close. The tailgate has recently been painted, very badly unfortunately

That looks good. I see someone bought one of the new steering wheels that were available last year (presumably from eBay).

Thanks mate, these pictures don't really do it justice, I will get some better ones soon.

Yes the steering wheel is factory fresh, I don't like to touch it  Out of interest how much were they selling for? (I never saw any for sale)

Plans for this are just a bit of a general tidy up and enjoy driving it over the summer.

The bumpers (or at least the green strips) will be coming off to go on my FRST project, and they will be replaced with the correct (black?) RS1800 items (or did they not have bumper inserts at all?)

I'm unsure at the moment whether to replace the FRST opening rears with standard glass, and also to replace the FRST bonnet with the standard item. Although I do like the FRST bonnet! What do you think?

It has miss matched wheels at the moment, the front 2 (and the spare) are the early RS1800 polished type with metal center caps. The rear 2 are the correct painted type with plastic centers.

I have just acquired another polished early type wheel, meaning I have set of 4, however they are not correct to the year of the car and I only have 2 of the metal type center caps! (if anyone has the center caps lying around somewhere and want rid of them, let me know!)

So I have also just bought a full set of 4 later type painted alloys with plastic caps, meaning I will have 6x correct wheels  oops

If your getting rid of the green stripes in the bumpers then I'd be interested in them :-)

Green stripes will be going on my FRST  I may have a spare rear one (need to check), and I think Excursion had a front one for sale on ebay? Don't know if he still has it.

Cheers, thought that may have been the case. I'm sure I've seen a red one somewhere with black bumper inserts - hence the confusion

The wheels were going for £149, but didn't sell so were reduced to £100. The 16v cars didn't have inserts.

I would probably replace the FRST bonnet for a standard item, but keep the opening quarters as 1) they add a little security and 2) they were fitted to continental models anyway.
