My RST - nearly come to that time...

Those lights being removed makes the biggest difference IMO. I love the 90'Spec front bumper!
I found it by searching through my member's gallery posts with 'convertible' in them.
Strange - I never say cabriolet, just sounds gay in my opinion!

Wooohooo - got an update on the car
The car is over 3/4 mapped now and according to Mark it's going to be a pretty fast car
I need a new AMAL valve, unfortunately it appears to have gone missing or has been left in my mate's workshop somewhere, so a new one is being fitted.
Apart from that and a faulty oil pressure sensor everything's running hunky dory so I should get the car back by the end of this week
Much happier now!

Hey guys - got the car back today and I have to say it was alot of fun and that was just on low boost!
I gave it a quick wash over as soon as I got it back as it was a bit grimey after the journey home (it had to rain today didn't it!).
I'll get some video up later - gonna have to modify the mount for the Recaro's first
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks very much guys - I've been trying to locate what boost hose is leaking at the moment as I'm getting turbo hiss all the time now and heard something go 'phtumph' on a dual carriageway earlier!
Some pictures here - the device I'm concentrating on in the first few pics is the new AMAL valve that Mark at Grove has fitted
Before you say it - I know the engine and bay needs a clean, I'll be onto that over the weekend!
I can't really test it out at the moment as the car is too loud to do night driving around my estate in so I'll have to get onto it again tomorrow daytime!
Videos will follow then - sorry guys!
At least it's back home in the garage now
Cheers,
Andy

When did it blow water out of the header tank? Was that before or after the mapping? Lovely header tank though! Two-stage boost is to be the way forward methinks. Can you determine what pressures your two presets are? I presume it's maximum pressure for "high" and then can you set the "low" pressure to be whatever you want? What boost is "high" set at now?

The water spilled out as we didn't have a decent enough funnel when filling the system without the turbo before (when filling it at my garage). When the intercooler was fitted my friend Simon filled the water system properly using one of those fancy vacuum pump systems, making sure there are no air-locks.
Also - there are no wheelarch liners on the car at the mo, so all the grime comes up through into the engine bay!
Shall see if I can fit them back in again and stop them from rubbing on the 15s.
I'll update this post again tomorrow with better pictures
Cheers,
Andy

Don't say that. Really, don't. They didn't find the bodies of the last 3 people to ask that. Also don't mention his bonnet being wonky or his car having drive to "the wrong wheels". All these things I have learnt from bitter experience.
Andy, gissago!

The intercooler is fitted slightly wonky - but mapping the car had to be initial aim as I haven't driven the car properly for over a year now.
I picked the car up and drove it properly for the first time yesterday - and then I went and got a boost leak that appears to be coming from the inlet manifold.
Grant - shut up or you'll be put out with the rubbish in a black sack on Tuesday (I pay my council tax - they can get rid of my 'rubbish')
Cheers,
Andy

Inlet manifold? Where abouts! Bet it's just a poxy gasket - between the two halves of the manifold or the manifold-head gasket, which will be what, £15, £20? Hope you get it sorted soon

I would think it's those - but I've taken this flexi hose from the charge carrier to throttle body off and noticed this underneath!
All the gaskets were replaced recently so it's unlikely to be them but I'm not ruling them out as a possibility.
The charge carrier was cut shorter to fit the Cossie throttle body in - but the hose has perished on the underside so I'm going to see if I can get a reducer pipe or some slightly smaller diameter samco hose to fit between the two.
Dimensions needed are:
Length: 40mm
Charge carrier od: 69mm
throttle body od: 64/65mm
Soooo, if I could either get a suitably sized bit of Silicon hose then I'll be sorted for that part - I don't want to put it back together with the crumby hose it was using, even if it isn't the cause of the 'phantom hiss'.
Cheers,
Andy
