Well - can't really fit the d/v without the proper top boost hose so it's going to stay off.
I wasn't going to fit it anyway but the above just sealed it's fate!
Looking forward to driving the damn thing again!
Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy, I might be able to get hold of a few Lilliput (and the likes) at much cheaper prices, in around October. If you need one (some?) let me know

Hi mate,
I may well be interested in that - I'm waiting for a supplier of mine to start importing the Xenarc DIN sized fold-out VGA touchscreens soon, I'll let you know when I get hold of one!
Cheers,
Andy

As ever, looking brilliant mate, can't wait to see her back on the road - might have to take a little run down to Bexhill to see her!
Looking forward to the back-together pics!

Hi,
So it would be mini-ITX all the way, right?
But where are you going to put it in? I don't see any suitable space... well you can put it in the boot, but it would be difficult to change CD/DVD.
And are you going to wire up any VFD?
Your car would look very good when everything is smoothed over... I wish my mercury grey is like yours!

Thanks mate - I'll be at plenty of meets so will be able to give you a drive in it at some point in the near future
I'm looking forward to seeing it all back together as well!

TBH I never use the DVD or CD drive - only to import data etc. as I have all of my music on MP3 (saves filling my glovebox with CDs!) and if passengers were to watch a DVD on the move then I'd stick it in - although I have most films on DivX format
I'm really looking forward to having the car back now
Cheers,
Andy

Nice pics Andy Good to see the project is taking shape and you shouldn't have to wait too much longer. The car looks good on the wheels, and the engine bay's looking good as well I'm looking forward to the painted pics being posted up I agree with Heeman as well - the tinted rear lights do look good on a grey car, but out of place on some of the other colours.
A few others may have missed it, but i managed to catch this perfectly reasonable quote from you :
Gareth

andyhardy :I love red - it's clearly the best colour by far. I ordered the respray in grey by mistake. Red rules.

Hi mate - I've already had the system up and running in my Dad's Escort XR3i convertible.

The system going into my turbo will have a few 'extra' features

Thanks for the nice comments Gaz - glad to see you don't think I'm ruining the car!
Hearing nice comments does make it all seem worthwhile - projects like this have their moments where you seriously wonder why you've bothered to carry it out in the first place.

I still think Grey's better than pink

I like a wide range of Fiestas - yours particularly appeals as it's not being modded with the general condition being ignored, as you're having a restoration - and the wheels are different, but OE Ford parts, lending to a slightly manufacturer look.
And most importantly - they aren't a set of dodgy jap bumpers in sight
Hopefully the positive comments make a large project more worthwhile - i know you've been a bit down about it recently, but chin up
Oh - and i managed to unearth yet another quote others may have missed:

andyhardy :Yes, i'm certain now, red is definately the colour for me. I can't believe i'm having it painted grey. My mistake

The other good news is that the car's in the booths ready for spraying this evening so is good for collection tomorrow afternoon
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks mate, the wheels don't stick out of the arches when the bodykit's all on, they're quite tucked in at the back but are very close to sticking out at the front!

I've just got off the phone to my mate Simon and they're still putting the car back together.
He tells me the car's looking really good all smoothed off but he couldn't get it booked in for it's MOT until tomorrow morning.
He's going to leave it up to me whether I want to put the mk3.5 Ford badges on or not as he thinks the car looks better without them on (especially on the front) - but I quite like showing off that it's a Ford!
Cheers,
Andy

Guess who's back...
I got it back today - was a bit of a mission getting it home, Simon only left me vapours to get to the nearest petrol station and it ran out in a queue for a set of traffic lights!
Anyway - got it filled up and running to get me to the nearest petrol station and home.
Here are the pics - I'll let them do the talking!
Well - it's been a long 7 months and I'm just absolutely glad to get her back! I've still got to get the smoked rear clusters fitted and get cracking tomorrow on getting my install all setup.
Thank you for your time!

Mmm nice, very nice, all the right mods but i'd prefer the bonnet down properly, does it make that dramatic a difference?
The front wheels do seem quite a bit further out dont they
Would love to see it in the flesh
