mattbibs :cant wait andy - literally holding my breath to see it when its finished!
pics show her coming along nicely!
You might be holding your breath for a while!
There's still a lot to do but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now - the turbo has spun up with no probs and engine is running fine. Mongoose 4" rolled out is now on
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks dude!
I never get put off by anyone - I'm not into the business of doing anything different with the bodywork, just going to use a pretty much tried and tested design but with high quality!
The car should have power to match the looks too
Cheers,
Andy

Andy, looks brilliant mate, I can't wait to see it when it's done, especially with the PC in there etc! I love the idea of the subtle styling, keep it original and gentle with big power and you're onto a winner IMO
Top job, look forward to seeing the end results!

Right - I bought some new rear clusters for my Turbo off of ebay the other day (only cost me £50 plus p&p) - received them this morning:
They should suit the merc grey bodywork
Cheers,
Andy

They do look good on grey Andy, I've seen it before They can let down the back end of bright-coloured cars, but dull old grey suits them down to the ground When you getting it all sprayed red then?

Well - the car has been filled and smoothed this last weekend.
I'll be taking photos of it in it's primer coat, hopefully tomorrow.
Not long now - it's been off the road over 6 months
Can't wait to feel the turbo kick again - the 1.1 really doesn't cut the mustard (despite my best attempts!)

Hey guys,
Went to see the car before it gets sprayed - my mate Simon was finishing plumbing in all of the hoses and we managed to fit the air filter under the battery which was an unexpected bonus.
I heard the car running and it sounds very loud (unfortunately I didn't think to take a vid clip of it running at the time). All hoses are plumbed in but the ERST top boost hose won't work so I'm having to use the standard Ford black one in the mean time
Here are some pics for you to look and see how it's coming along - not long now:
Some pics of the car how it was today
Engine bay looking mucky and half done!
Very dusty interior!
Arches off the car
Showing how I managed to keep the flexi-joint in the Mongoose exhaust mounted to a T3 downpipe kindly given to me with the turbo off of fiesta-jim all those months ago!
This shows the location of where the air filter will be once it's all plumbed in - under the battery tray itself next to the gearbox
Front end again
Rear arches placed on side to show how much clearance the rear has - might be a problem when putting the rear bumper back on
Another of the same shot above but with the flash on!
I should get it back on Wednesday - which is nice
Cheers,
Andy

Working weekends on it and evenings so I've been assured it's all done.
MOT is on Wednesday morning and car will be ready for me to pick up.
I then have the task of stripping all the interior out again and laying the cabling through the car for my stereo and PC
It'll be done!

Ah it's gonna be a stunner Andy That's where I hope to locate my filter too. I'm planning on making a cradle that will bolt into the gearbox cradle and support the filter down there in all that nice cold air By far the best place for it IMO, as long as it's slightly sheltered from any water. I'm feeling the frustration for you now, it's nearly done matey

the car is looking V good indeed, but i think 16" Mondeo Si Rims would be better, as those cossie rims stick out too far , gives it the 4 x 4 Look.
apart from that, nice car.

Please notice that none of the arch spats are on and that the car is actually on a ramp.
When the car's on the ground the wheels are tucked in quite nicely (coilovers!) although the front track is noticeably wider than the rear, due to it being fwd
No way are Mondeo Si rims better than these dude - you're dead wrong!

Ditto exactly that - when discussing it with Simon we worked out that mounting it in a cradle onto the gearbox would probably be the best bet rather than mounting it to the bodywork (as the turbo would move meaning it's more likely to work lose etc.).
Thanks for all the comments guys - can't believe how good it feels to hear it running through the Mongoose 4" today, sounded fantastic (and because of that top hose there's no DV on so I heard the first hint of chatter - it's been a while ).
Cheers,
Andy
