Yea, its just annoying more than anything
Means I have to wait another day to get the car sorted now
Its the drivebelt, not the timing belt

UPDATE:
I got the drivebelt done yesterday and the squeaking has stopped!!
Didnt realise just how much it was annoying me, should have sorted it ages ago!
Sounds soooooo much nicer again now, can hear the exhaust popping again and everything
Well happy
Also got her thoroughly washed with a hose again today after the past couple of days salt so she is nice and shiney too

Re: My si project.....*Update 27/03/11 - Peak District Pics!*
Well with the weather being good today and working all day yesterday, I thought I would have a day off, wash the si and take it for a spin in the peaks!
Had an awesome time on the stunning roads round the area and took some snaps whilst I was out there too.
Re-reminded me of how much I love my si, had it nearly 5 years now and loved every minute!
Here are some of the pics I took:
Let me know what you think

Re: My si project.....*Update 20/06/11 - Off the road*
Update
As of friday just gone I took the si off the road to get a few bits and pieces done that I have wanted to do for a while now.
The "to do" list is as follows:
Remove, de-rust, paint and re-fit rear brake drums
Clean and paint rear wheel arches (black hammerite)
Replace handbrake cable
Clean and paint floorpan for protection (black hammerite)
Swap petrol tank
Paint front callipers and brackets (red)
Remove, spray and re-fit front bumper (due to stone chips)
Spray exhaust heat shield silver (engine bay)
Fit new pattern part headlights (mine are like fish tanks now )
I want to swap the petrol tank as the one on it is a new genuine ford item, and as they are now discontinued it makes sense to have it on my RS rather than a daily that is driven through the winter.
Also, the handbrake basically doesnt work now as the old cable is fooked, so I am putting a new one on to solve that problem
I made a good start over the weekend, removed fuel tank, handbrake cable, drums and shoes and cleaned up and painted the floorpan.

If you call too much spare time weekends only and a 240 mile round trip to get to the garage where the cars are then yes, I do
Cheers for the kind words tho mate, makes it all seem more worthwhile

Re: My si project.....*Update 13/07/11 - PROGRESS*
Update
Got more done on the si last weekend. Am running out of time before ford fair now but all going to plan she will be ready in time
I will let the pics do the talking:
Cleaned up and painted rear arches with two coats of black hammerite:
Removed manifold heat shield, de-rusted and srayed it, and also de-rusted the rear drums and have given them one coat of black hammerite so far, second coat will be next weekend so they are well protected:
Also did the second coat of hammerite on the underside/floorpan:
"All" thats left to do now is fit the new handbrake cable, fit the other fuel tank, fit the new headlights, re-fit the rear brakes, re-fit the manifold heat shield and get her MOT'd

Re: My si project.....*Update 13/07/11 - PROGRESS*
It looks like you have a great shell there.
Just one thing I spotted:
That looks suspiciously like rust bubbling up underneath the underseal around the bottom of the wheelarch and behind the brake pipe bracket - did you check it out?
I'm not being negative it's for you benefit more than anything, as it looks like a very nice Si.

Cheers buddy
This is going to ford fair as the RS Turbo is currently off the road in the midst of a full strip down followed by re-build
The Mk1 is going to be sold unfortunately due to lack of time, space and money to do what I want to do with it
I would rather it go to a home where it can be fully appreciated with an owner who has the space and time for it
Will be very very sad to see it go tho

knuckles :How on earth do you get the cars that high ?!!
Using four jacks, jack the car up as high as the jacks allow, put it on four axle stands, then put the jacks on breeze blocks, jack the car up again, then put the axle stands on breeze blocks etc etc until it is the height you see it
Soooo much easier to work on underneath at that height

And yes they are, in fact, they are the ones I had in the car the time I came to yours to get those deflectors
They were on the RS last year but with it being off the road atm, it seemed a shame for them to not be on a car, especially for ford fair

Its actually solid black
It used to be ash black when I bought it, but after the full rebuild (see first post on first page of this thread) we resprayed it solid black
I decided that the ash black looked at its best when it looked black, as in some lights it looks grey/green/purple, so I thought that it would make sense to spray the car black
