Cheers Jon
I wondered how well it would sit on the comps compared to the RST, with the car not having the skirts and arches, and not being quite as low, but was pleasantly suprised
Think those wheels would suit anything though

Re: My si project.....*Update 13/04/12 - ITS BACK!*
Well, after another winter off the road, as of yesterday, the si is back on the road!
Went for a drive in her yesterday and was grinning the whole time, forgotten what a nice drive it was, and its nice to have more than 35 bhp below the right foot
Plans for this year are to drive and enjoy

Cheers for the psitive comments guys!
In terms of lodgers, there is space in the roof rafters if I board it all out, but I'm afraid the rent would be mint rs's, maybe one every two months to keep me busy?
Would love to put bodies on fraggle, but cant afford the excess fuel consumption as a result with her being the daily

Ive got one you could keep busy on, well tbh i reckon the moon will melt before it ever gets done in my hands
See your point on economy though, shame really as it just deserves it, maybe time for another daily...

Re: My si project.....*Update 29/12/12 - ITS BACK!*
Update time!
Well, as of the end of October the FRS has been off the road for the winter for me to do bits and bobs to it. Needed a new chargecooler pump and a bit of a freshen up behind the front bumper etc, plus I didnt want to drive it in all the salt
So..... it has been the train and bus for me for the past two months, but got home for xmas and saw the si sat there on the parents drive, sorned, mot expired and uninsured, and thought, money allowing, it would be great to resurrect it for the winter while the FRS is in bits
So got it insured and took it for its MOT today, and it passed first time, no advisories!
So its now back on the road, and sporting the steelies for insurance purposes as well as salty road purposes!
Couple of pics:
So good to be back in her, something about these cars that I just cant resist!
All comments welcome

Its sooo good to be back behind the wheel of the si, such fun cars to drive, just something about them!
The FRST is still ongoing, been on the back burner for a while now but plans are afoot to get it sorted in 2013

And they are the original wheels the car came with (for the concours among us )
The 1.1 is off the road at the moment, bit of a front end resto is in the pipeline at some point (wings and front panel), so I just put it on some 13" steels while it is sat there
Good luck for your mot mate

It looks good on those steels, they suit it I can't remember if you did or not, but has it been Waxoyled?

In terms of waxoyl, no, but I have cleaned the whole underside, followed by two coats of hammerite. Prefer doing this as if any rust comes through, it can easily be seen and rectified
Was under the car today and its ideal, as all the dirt from the road just wipes off

I know what you mean, think with the si being less desirable for restoration etc with it not wearing the RS badge, they have all been scrapped now and disappeared
Arguably they are rarer than an RS badged mk3 nowerdays
