Re: My si project! (Update 02/06/09: Pics with RS!)
lol! Don't worry, got 1 week left at uni then over the summer im stripping it all down and rebuilding it with new bits where necessary, getting any rust off and painting/undersealing. Can't wait to get started on it!
Its very soon going to be slammed over a set of 16" mondy alloys sprayed anthracite
Also getting a 3.5" or 4" stainless system for it because the 3" one on at the moment looks too small and is all rusty underneath anyway.
Will be looking mint very soon.

was ncie to read this thread again, i love how you admire the sporting models for what they are, and not 'ruin' them with modifications or non OEM parts, except the exhaust and springs:P
any news on if and when the 2.0 is going in?
or would you want to drive the RS instead?
who does the Zetec s belong to then? its looking nice and original too

The 2.0 ltr will probably be next year now as im too pre-occupied with the rs turbo at the mo and its taking up the garage too.
Think I will just enjoy the 1.6 power in the si again this year
The zetec s used to be mine but I sold it to pay for the rs turbo. Was a lovely car and completely standard with 48k on the clock but I wanted something more retro and classic.
The zetec s used to be my winter car with the si being the summer car but now I have the rs, my winter car is the mk3 1.1 5 door that I passed my test in
I have modded that to look like a sleeper though so all is good

Re: My si project! (Update 02/06/09: Pics with RS!)
ooh lol
dunno if i could go back to driving a 1.1, i cant stand how slow they are the 1.3 is ok theres a fair enough bit of grunt when you press your right foot, but the 1.1 is shocking lol
im supprised you still have your first car, i sold mine to a neighbour, its now been stolen and burnt out
can you not use the Si for a winter car?

Re: My si project! (Update 02/06/09: Pics with RS!)
Yea, we kept the 1.1 in the family as a "spare" car and it sat in the garage for a couple of years. It was worth more to us than the money we would get from selling it so we just kept it on and im really glad we did now.
Its pretty solw but handles really well now its lowered on bigger wheels and looks really nice too.
I couldnt bring myself to use the si in the winter in all that salt with the amount of hard work I put into completely rebuilding it with new parts. It would upset me way too much seeing it covered in salt! Its tucked away in a garage at the moment and will be making its first appearance at fitp. Really cant wait! It will seem so powerful compared to the 1.1 when I get back into it!

Re: My si project.....Update 18/05/10: Pics + Anniversary!)
Well Today is a special day as its exactly four years ago to the day that I bought my si!
Cant believe how quickly its gone, seem like I only just bought her. Have enjoyed every minute and here's to the next 4 years
Took some pics over the weekend when I was out and about (as she went back on the road on friday after hibernating for 8 months!) so thought I would share. Am delighted with the wind deflectors I bought for her too, they just finish the car off nicely imo!
After the car had been backed out the garage (dusty ):
Some arty shots:

Cheers buddy, comments like that (and post revivals ) makes all the hard work and money seem worthwhile
She is indeed still my daily. The RS is well and truely off the road and in bits and the mk1 is tucked away untill easter
The si is the most modern and "sensible" out of the three

Right then, update time.
Got the oil changed yesterday, love the feeling of putting nice fresh oil in and a new filter
Also, I'm picking up a new drive belt from fords tomorrow as the current one is squeaking like fook now
Finally, here are some pics of her from this morning after a thorough washing underneath, in the arches and everywhere else with a hose to get rid of all the evil salt
Nice and shiney again now

Cheers for the comments guys
Anyway, small udate, was meant to be doing the drive belt today, got the old one off and went to fords to pick up the new one they had ordered me in and it was miles too long
Ordered one from CES which will be in tomorrow morning so will get it fitted then and hopefully that will solve the squeaking
