Could just be the wider tyres are more prone to pulling the car out of alignment. Does it tend to wander over the road???

well after a while it does tend to pull to the left a little bit yes,i think you could
be wright actually i think its the wider
tyres which could be pulling it out of
alignment more often, but i dont know how to solve this, maybe its an affect of wider
tyres

Hmmm, tricky this. There are loads of different ways, but essentially you have to stiffen the steering and suspension components, e.g. using a good shock and spring combi (I hear Avo coilovers are good - anybody?) is a good start. Poly bushes are a must, as is a very precise tracking adjustment. Make sure there is minimal wear on all the front suspension-related components (visual inspection, and the one in the Haynes manual should do), and keep tyres pumped up at the exact right pressure.

Also, driving technique is very important - my donor car has f***ing awful tracking, and it used to be a common occurence to blink in the fast lane at 1*0 MPH and find myself in the middle lane - now I avoid the inside lane (the car gets thrown around the ruts from lorries) and practically let the car drive itself.

Umm, I must be bored to have written all that waffle.
