My Zetec Turbo Build *Abandoned Project*

Post pics of your Fiesta here.

Postby StreetDragster on Thu Nov 11, 2004 6:58 pm

Goes for its exhaust on Saturday. Decided on a 3" exhaust from the turbo back, giving extra clearance round the front crossmember. Then its going to have a nice quiet, yet sporty sound to it, dont want another loud car. Tailpipe i'm having a 4" straight cut (no rolled edges) tucked up nicely into the recess and sticking out about 3/4" to 1".

Whilst its out i will get some good pictures of its exterior, not seen it out in daylight for a while!!!

No one wants to buy a Scorpion exhaust do you? Collection only from Blackpool

Thanks

Matt

Theres a place near Blackpool called Permazorst which make up stainless steel exhausts to your spec, dont think they are Powerflow dealers but a similar deal. Two of my friends have have there exhausts mae up there and they are spot on.
£300-£350 depending on the tailpipe, from the turbo to the bumper, which i though was very reasonably priced. I get an accurate quote tomorrow when the car is there.

Thanks

As requested, latest pic of the car, just before we towed it up to the exhaust place.
Towed ok with no problems, looking forward to driving it under its own steam soon!!!

Hi All,

Thanks for the comments :) I don't like the 3.5 mirrors either :D But if a pair of prepainted white ones turned up for not alot of money i'd probably swap them.
Suspension wise, it has standard dampers with -30 Jamax springs. Quite a bad picture really, it looks really high, but its the angle of the photo and the car on the kerb, See Semi Side On Pic-

Exhaust Now Sorted, pretty crap picture, but its too dark to get a decent one, i'll get a better pic at the weekend............

Image

Spoke to Lee at Fusion and my pipes should be here tomorrow, ordered my remaining pipeage, and heat wrap from Demon Tweeks today, that should also be here tomorrow, and i'm picking up my fuel piping and fittings on friday.
That, in theory, should be all the parts needed to start the engine, fingers crossed i'll get it all sorted for this weekend. Getting a bit nervous now, no more excuses!

Thanks

I hope you've got a big-ass check list to run through first to check everything's sweet. Battery charged...all bolts tight...all clamps...turbo primed...come to Preston on a warm-up run :D

Hi matt

that exhaust tailpipe is exactly what im after

How does it sound, is it loud. i'm after a sporty exhuast for my 2i trackcar, which won't result in a sound test failure.

How much did you pay for it in the end. Do they have a website

Hi Chris,

Not sure how it sounds, the engine isnt running yet, but hopefully i should be able to tell you on Monday!! I asked for it to sound sporty and not loud so hopefully thats what it should sound like.
Cost me £300 in the end, and took 1.5days to complete.

swap the inner 2 lights on the morrettes for air intakes

Well that would be my stealth look out the window :D

Hopefully it should be at a few shows next year for defo, not sure which ones though!

Thanks

The Morette's stay :) i want it to look nice and tidy but not obviously packing a hot engine by having huge gapping holes for the intercooler, rally wheels, no dash and buckets seats.
Think i've done quite well so far to keep it subtle, may not be so subtle when i have the stickers put on the side skirts, but never mind, i want them :D
Cheers, yep its a 4", shat myself when i got the reciept (before seeing the car) as it said 5" carbon tailpipe!!!! turns out the guy entered the wrong code on the invoice, phew!

Thanks

love the tailpipe mate, i always think straight cut tips have that raw race look to them, like your car is a serious bit of kit, which it most certainly is. This is sure gonna be a beast when you get her on the road :Q

Barsteward, just remembered that for the ECU i need a lambda sensor in the exhaust, and i forgot to have the boss welded in whilst it was being made!!!
Nipple!
The downpipe is coming off again this weekend anyway to be heat wrapped, so luckily i remembered now and i'll have the boss welded in on saturday.

Thanks

Matt

Trying for Secs S8 mate, either the EEC-IV plug and play unit with a few extra wires or a cosworth loom version. Stu at MSD will hopefully be mapping it post management fit :)
