Need advice about lowering

Ive got 16x7" alloys on my SI and NEED to get it lowered as its like a fecking jeep.
Now, as you lot probably (or should) know by now, whenever i go over a hefty bump in the road with a car full of people the back end *crunches* down on the back wheels.

A couple of things:
Is this the 'lip' scraping the top side of the tyres or is it something else? Im gonna be taking it into a garage and getting the arches rolled for £30 for all four arches. D'you know if this'll stop the scraping and allow me to start going down the lowering road?

PLEASE, i NEED 'ELP! and FAST!

yep its well worth having the arches rolled, but it deoends how low u wanna go if u are taking fat people in the back the whole time i would stick to a 35mm drop, with 195/45 tyres u should be fine if not try some 5mm spacers on.

£30? Sounds a bit cheep to me. Make sure they cover any bare metal inside the arches with zinc primer and then paint it otherwise it'll rust like a ho.

if the wheels are catching the arches, it will leave grooves in the tyres. friends ax does this quite badly, think he may be heading for a blow out??? :???:
still not much show but a smidge more go

Robin:
If the tyres are rubbing the arches surely spacers will make it worse????
FesMental:
If you have et38 offset you shouldn't be catching on any metal work, but the tyres will be rubbing on the bumper where it over laps the rear arch, file this away and do likewise on the front bumper and arch spats and bobs your uncle, lower away.
If your running a 35 offset you'll need to trim a small amount off front and rear arch lips about 2mm and do same to plastic parts as above.
