Diesel and RS1800 boxes had better, larger bearings. Don't think it was all Diesel boxes though. Just bear in mind the gear ratios.

S2 ERST box is "the one with an LSD". Its what im using with my 2.0 too, ratios seem spot on. Gearing on the diesel box could be a tad too long i reckon.

how much would one of they be...

another prob is i just bought a new clutch it cost me like £250. spoke to a guy at the garage and he said the clutch would fit onto the diesel one...

but does any1 know if the S2 will fit the same way?? same clutch fitment

Ahh the good ol' tougher diesel gearbox myth.

Diesel box is no tougher than any of the other BC/IB5 boxes and the gear ratios make it wholey unsuitable for what you want. Go with a S1/S2 RS Turbo box and get the benefit of the LSD. Or look at getting your existing box rebuilt.
