Need for Speed, Turbo Styleee

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

Hey guys, here`s a few daft questions for ya, cos I don`t really have a clue and would value the opinions of those who have tinkered before.
I own a 1.6 CVH XR2i, and whilst being quite quick it isn`t in the same range as the Peugeot GTI`s, Saxo VTS or Corsa GSI`s and I`m getting sick of getting blown away. I fancy the Turbo route, but am unsure of the procedure.
My first option, if possible is to modify my existing CVH to take a turbo. Can this be done?
Second option is complete RST transplant. How difficult is this?
The first option is more desirable to me, because whilst my Old Man and myself have some technical knowledge/experience, we simply don`t have the facilities to store/install a complete new engine. Hence, can the RST bits be simply "bolted" on and tinkered with? I understand that the XR2i and RST are basically the same engine and that is the reason I ask.

Cheers for the help guys

Most of the internals are different so you`re better off buying a decent turbo lump..

To mod the current lump u have will take quite a bit of effort but can be modifyed to beat RST's, but only the reasonably standard ones.....ur best bet is to go for something that is already fast and make it even faster so u can keep up and sumtimes beat RST's and all the other motors out there!

u cant beat the sound of a turbo whistle combined with a dump valve and the chatter from the wastegate!! utter MADNESS!!!

trust me, go for the turbo lump.....try getting hold of a written off or breaking FRST and transfer everything over onto ur car...if ur gonna do it...do it properly! just like im gonna do
